Recasting BTVS

Okay, let's say Mutant Enemy wanted to start from scratch and cast new actors in a new BTVS show/movie. Who would you have play who and why?

I always thought Johnny Depp would be a good Angel.
 
I dont think the show/s would be the same without the cast they have now.. I cant imagine anyone else playing these characters

Hypothetically thinking of course.

But that's a pretty bold statement saying that these characters couldn't be played by someone else, if not better in some cases. I personally believe that Scarlet Johansen can play a better Buffy than SMG.
 
I'd have no problem with Scarlet Johansen in a movie Season 8. She'd eat that role up. It becomes a little tougher if you're thinking television and the high school years. Kristen Bell could do it, if she'd never done Veronica Mars, but she did, and now she's too much Veronica.

The one I always find toughest to imagine with someone else every time this thread comes up is Willow.
 
Yeah, I actually have to agree with you there. Allison Hannigan did make the character. Everyone else I can see someone else playing but Willow.
 
This is fun. Imagine this. Dakota Fanning disappears from public view, then reappears at age 15 as Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
 
I think the actress who plays Mac on Veronica would be a good recast of Willow but her role on VM is basically the same though.
 
I would like to see Lacey Chabert as either Cordy or Harmony. I think her character from "Mean Girls" was kinda like Harmony.
 
I can see a younger Helena Boham Carter playing Faith.

Yeah, but Johnny can portray any character. He could play Glory and make it believable 😛.

Because i love Angelina Jolie so much, she should be cast as something...Maybe...Darla coz she has to be a vampire.

OH MY Lord.
We had a TV show here in the UK that spoofs Celebrities.
We had a George Michaels one, a Madonna and Guy Ritchie one, a Sadie Frost AND A Jennifer Aniston one.
It's called Star Stories and wh this is relevant is because of Jennifer Anniston.
The reason Brad Pitt left her is because Angelina Jolie is a Vampire and only Kofi Annan can stop her.

I have to say I'd love seeing Angelina Jolie slay some vampires. Well, not if she was dressed like Tomb Raider...I only thought she was hot in Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Yes, it occurred to me that Tina Majorino could play the early Willow, and that she has played a somewhat similar role as Mac to Kristen Bell's Veronica that Willow was to Buffy, including her being a computer geek. My question is whether she could play Willow through all the changes that Alyson Hannigan's character went through (becoming a lesbian and a mighty witch, etc, etc.)

Veering off-topic a bit -

Having watched some VM I wonder why the show that Tina Majorino is currently on hasn't tried to make more use of her as Mac. She's very likable, potentially even more interesting. I think that the show depends too much on Kristen Bell's one character, and that the supporting roles, particularly the female ones, need to be stronger.
 
Just wanted to add to watcher1006's comment, apprently, the next half of season 3 on VM will include more/focus more on Mac than it has in the first half, which is totally yay for me coz shes one of my favourites!

Anyways, back to recasting...Who could Buffy be recast with? I know SMG is buffy, but if she had to be recast, then I'd go with Hilary Duff. Mainly coz she's blonde, seems like the sweet young kinda early Buffy type Buffy.

Just kidding, I have no idea who Adam Brody is. I'm sure he'd make a fine choice, and your friend doesn't deserve to die.. Or maybe she does, I'll leave it in your hands.

I'm not sure he could act the part, but Ryan Phillipe looks like a young Spike... He does. I'm telling ya. Seriously. Oh bugger off you brolly.
