I have just finished a buffy book entitled "Mortal fear." Now in the front of the book it says that the story is set in season six. Now I have seen season six and it is not in it. So i thought that maybe it wasn't ever actually made into a ep. So i was wondering if it was in season seven? I haven't seen season seven so i don't know. What happens is that this guy "Simon" Possess's all of sunnydale, trying to re-assemble the "Soulsword" Well if this sounds like an ep you've seen please respond and tell me so!
 
The Buffy books aren't episodes there alternate stories. Like what supposedly happened between episodes. The story tells you it takes place in season six so they don't have to explained every little detail.

So basically the books and the show aren't connected.
 
'Mortal Fear' was set in season seven. They screw that up all the time. I scratched it out on my book and wrote in 'seven'.

They mention Principal Wood, Buffy works at Sunnydale High [which, duh, wasn't built until season seven], she can apparently drive [Buffy NEVER learned to drive, by the way, and that's a major inconsistency with a lot of the Buffyverse novels], and Spike is soul crazy. So, yea, it's season seven.

The End.
 
Yea usually down the bottom it has "A novel based on the TV-series Buffy the Vampire Slayer" But if it is actual episodes they have the episode names and who wrote it down the bottom.

In the novels I have they have truckloads of typos, like "and" and "compar,ed" and things. You'd think, being published and all, they'd get someone to check over that stuff.
 
Hey thanks guys, I was getting a little confused. Well the stories are awesome any how! I Really wish this would have been an ep. Because as those of you who have read it know, it had an amazing plot! Hey Now without going into any intraquit detail, in season seven, Does dawn take the scars off of xanders body? And please I haven't seen season seven yet, so don't spoil it for me.

No. Although, I thought it was a touching little add-on to the plot. They don't mention any scars S7, or show them. It's a novel thing. The End.
 
Novels are not linked too the Episodes at all!!!

Buffy drove in S3, so she can drive.
 
She doesn't have a license, I don't think. It's been brought up a few times on the show. And, as I doubly recall, Xander was driving Dawn to school at the beginning of S7. Buffy would've just done it if she could drive.

Dunno. Always assumed Buffy had never gotten her license. But we're off topic, so...blah. Later.
 
Well I remember somewhere in s2 or 3, cant member where though, buffy was pestering her mum about driving and she said she couldnt cause of what happened in her test.
 
The novels never follow the storylines. If you've read "Seven Crows", you will understand. Buffy works at the High school as a guidance counselor. But, it summer vacation has just started. Dawn's out of school on break.

We didn't get to see the summer vacation after Buffy took her job as a guidance counselor. First of all, she was fired. Second of all, the whole town was engulgfed by that big crater, remember?

it was a good story, it just didn't follow as it said it did.
 
Buffy drives that car...pretty damn well I must say...in 'Him' (n4h's favourite episode, lol)
I would've thought that she learned to drive by then anyway...

The book jacket states it's an 'alternate Buffy season seven storyline'. Although, yea, I was thrown too. A bit...off.

About the driving thing...as stated above, I always assumed she never got her license. I didn't even think she passed her test. After S3 the question of her license kinda fizzled out anyway, and I stopped paying much attention after that.

Most of the books don't follow the show..and in most of the books the characters are so horribly out of character...this one is no exception....I just finished reading it..

Oooo...I read Immortal. That was definitly an exceptional Buffy book. Great read. Never read 'Book of Fours' though... ::runs to the mall to buy the book::

Yeah, these books are like between episodes and stuff.

Where does it say it's set in season 6? I have the book and can't find that.
