Hey you guys, what are some good punk/pop records for a nine-year-old? The only punk/pop I like is Green Day, but I want to find something clean, no cussing, etc...

I highly recommend Bad Religion. I don't think a nine-year-old would be able to make much sense of some of their lyrics, but that's because they use words like "anathema" and "ubiquitous" and not because of profanity or innuendo. I think they drop one f-bomb in the song Don't Pray On Me, and that's about it.

So who's the nine-year-old? Your nephew?

Yeah, nephew. He's gonna start guitar lessons after Christmas. He's getting super psyched about music, which is cool. Wants to start a band with his friends already.

Employment - Kaiser Chiefs
Stripped - Christina Aguilera
System of a Down - Mezmerize.

OK, I got my nephew the Warped Tour 2004 compilation ("˜cause it was 52 songs for 5 bucks!). Seems fairly OK for a young youngster so far...it has a Bad Religion song on it, and Simple Plan, which he digs. Fingers crossed...also got him Smash Mouth's greatest hits and the School of Rock soundtrack, to give him a little rock history lesson.

I HYPER HIGHLY RECOMMEND

SCREAM by Sarah Bettens !!!!!

K's Choice rings a bell for you? It should since it's in the BTVS soundtrack album.... (Virgin State of Mind.. yep, nope? lol) ....
Anyway... K's Choice songs have always been the most amazing ever to me... just take a look at the lyrics... she describes everyone's life.. you can find for sure at least one song that is FOR YOU... you can like relate so completely to what it says...

Anyway. Sarah and Gert Bettens have split to try to work on their own (not fight nor anything of the kind nah) and Sarah came up with that new ablum which is JUST AWAMZING! So yeah... take a look (yeah in case you haven't noticed I've been addicted).

If you wanna listen for free... check out

in there check out the Not Insane vid (against Bush and US government btw) and her live in paradiso!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Good Charlotte aren't all that bad in the swearing department. It's been a while since i listened to their cds but i don't recall anything really terrible in the lyrics.

Also, to add to my earlier list (and because i'm on an Amy Lee adoration vibe) ...

Evanescence - Fallen

The Killers-Hot Fuss
Evanescence-Fallen
Keane-Hopes and Fears
Coldplay-XandY
Buffy-All of em!

Really into Nine Black Alps at the moment but dont know if they have an album or anything, I just downloaded a few of there songs. They're great!

Lindsay Lohan "A Little More Personal (RAW)"

It's the best album I've bought in the past year. It's really good. Most people don't believe me when I tell them how good it is, but you just have to listen to the whole album. Her music is underrated. It's actually really good lyrically, vocally AND musically. "If It's Alright" always reminds me of Buffy & Angel.

Songs From A Room - Leonard Cohen
Marth Wainwright - Martha Wainwright
Lost In Space - Aimee Man
Adore - Smashing Pumkins
Ten New Songs - Leonard Cohen

Martha and Aimee. Coolness
Devils & Dust by Bruce Springsteen...he's on his own again, and he makes some pointed political statements on the Iraq war (Devils & Dust), immigration policy (Matamoros Banks) and other subjects...

Got to love the Grunge, The Melvins are great too
Okily dokily. There are few albums that I listen to from start to finish. Generally I listen to specific songs. Off the top of my head, the only three albums, that I listen to from track 1 to the end are..

Pink Floyd: The Wall.
Pink Floyd: Dark Side of The Moon.
Radiohead: OK Computer.

Right there are three of the greatest albums ever made.

Ciara-"Goodies" Oh and 1 2 Step are my favorite songs on the CD.

Bobby Valentino-"Bobby Valentino" Slow Down and Gangsta Love are the highlights of this CD.

Bow Wow-"Wanted" Let me Hold You and Like You are the best songs in the album.

Nelly-"Nellyville" Dilemma and Hot in Herre are the ones to look out for here.

Black Eyed Peas-"My Humps CD Single" Both the regular song and the remix are worth buying the single for . This song is catcy and funny too.

Beyonce- "Dangerously in Love" Baby Boy with Sean Paul and Crazy in Love with Jay Z are the best songs on the album.

Once More with Feeling- Has anyone recommended this album? I didn't read the whole thread so I wouldn't know. It's a great album and has a lot of good songs 😀

Angel-"Live Fast Die Never" It's also great. The Angel theme is worth the purchase alone.

I'm really into Carrie Underwood's "Some Hearts" right now, but then again I'm an American Idol junky...

Well am gonna reccomend a few albums that are in my collection 🙂

Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway, fantastic album!

Faith Hill - Cry, has lovely songs, there is not one song i dislike.

Celine Dion - Falling into you, The songs are amazing.
