...or a really long well-written Spike fic. Pairing or genre not important.

I've just read Spark & Burn(writing a review of it as well), a excellent Diana G. Gallagher novel, who clearly understands the character well(just writing him a tad bit too nice). I'm going to read her Buffy novel Bad Bargain which has Spike in it, but it's not exactly Spike-centric from what I've read about the book. So does anyone know any good novel/fic that's Spike-centric? Or can tell me which Spike novels that aren't worth the trouble?

As for Spike fan fiction, I would highly recommend "Moving On" by Cass (http://spikeluver.com/SpuffyRealm/viewstory.php?sid=24538) and its sequel, "Keep On Moving" (http://spikeluver.com/SpuffyRealm/viewstory.php?sid=24933), both posted at The Spuffy Realm (http://spikeluver.com/SpuffyRealm/index.php) Though now outdated (they involve a reunion of Spike and Buffy in Rome, complete with the Immortal) the two comprise an excellent story.

(And while you're there, you might check out the modest efforts of an obscure Spuffy writer who calls himself the White Avenger. He's dedication far surpasses is talent, but still...)

There's also a book called Spike and Dru: Pretty Maids All in a Row, which is about Spike and Drusilla pre Sunnydale. It looks pretty good 🙂

There is a good novel called Blackout by Keith R.A. DeCandido

It is set in 1977 and it mixes Spike story and Nikki the Vampire Slayer's story. I thought it was one of the better tie-in novels (and I agree with DeadButStillPretty's recommendation of Pretty Maids all in a Row too).

i'm not sure about spike novels, but as for fanfiction, i recommend the website http://www.allaboutspike.com

when there, search for a fic called "angels of the silences" by annie sewell-jennings--it is absolutely beautiful.

from that same site, i also HIGHLY recommend "the bittersweet series" by herself. it's a long series of fics, including one novel-length fic called "where they have to take you in"--i go back and read it at least once a year. it's ridiculously well-written and achingly beautiful--i can't recommend it enough.

Anaross' fic 'Long Day's Journey' is a fabulous Spike fic, told through the eyes of everyone but Spike. It's long, well-written and one of my favourite fics. You can read it on the Just Rewards fanfic site.

Just to throw in my 2 cents

I know someone above mentioned it, but I just wanted to say, I finished Blackout last night and it was probably one of the best Buffy novels Ive read. The author really knows how to write Spike, and he fleshes out the Nikki Wood character nicely.

I know I liked the Spike & Dru Pretty Maids one but I read that back in 2002 so I dont really remember it.
