Can you guys recommend me some good tv boxsets and books to look into buying please give a reason why they are good in your opinion aswell been bored recently and need something to do in these cold winter nights.

Tv-box sets:
Supernatural (a thrill ride of a tv-show, I love the first seasons)
The Godfather collection (three classic movies, the two first are beyond amazing! the third... so-so)
Criminal Minds (personal favorite. No poking of organs to solve crime, but rather psychology, far more interesting)
Big bang theory (funny, funny funny show 🙂)

As for books: Kathy Reich's books are great and easy to read. Anything by Kafka, Poe and Sylvia Plath are perfect for gloomy winter weather and Elizabeth Kostova has written two rather mesmerizing novels

Psych 🙂 It rocks and is very funny... You can buy season one from amazon for about £5 to see if you like it 🙂 And if you do look out for the pineapple in every episode!

I like most things more into a sci/fi fantasy mood at the moment.

Battlestar Galactica. Why? Cuz it is superb. Seriously, you will be addicted. I watced the entire 5 seasons in two weeks last year. For awhile there it was almost trumping Buffy in my fav show of all time race.

Scrubs. Long enough to make a good box set and one of the best shows ever made.

Smallville! I started watching it this summer and I liked it.

Bryan Fuller's oeuvre: Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me and Pushing Daisies. All of these shows are about supernatural things that are metaphors for real-life (hint hint, sound familiar?) Unfortunately, all three were cancelled prematurely.

Bryan Fuller's shows has a similar tone and style to Whedon.

I also highly recommend Spaced. It's one of my all time favorite shows. I must have watched the series at least 60 times, and still laugh every single time I watch it. Its perfect.
