I didn't like that other girl, was her name Sarah? Her voice was grating, if she could have taken it down a notch with her voice I would have kept listening to that but she was screaming into the mic. But I could not agree more that Alastair was a good balance because there needs to be discussion and push and pull instead of just someone sitting and fan girling for me to be interested.



I have tried The Angel Re-Watch, to be honest I'm not a big fan, there is alot of empty space, it sounds like two friends talking about Buffy while they are out to eat or something. I hate the re-caps.

Oooh but I did make it on their podcast after TGIQ. I sent in a comment about Cordy v. Buffy and they read it on the podcast and I don't think they understood my comment but they went off on why they are team Cangel and justifying it with the whole Cangel is more mature... bleh.... LOL. I may have lost a little of respect for them with that BUT, I intend to keep listening just not as excited about them.

Yeah I think it was Sarah. To be honest she seemed super excited (as you would be!) but because their partnership only lasted a few episodes I feel like she would have calmed down given the chance. It's a shame it didn't work out. From personal experience it's very hard to not let nerves and/or excitement get the better of you.

I'm not a massive fan of the Angel Rewatch either. I like to listen to personalities, and those guys just don't seem to have much of a rapport. I remember they were regular commentors on the Buffy Rewatch and that's how they got the Angel Rewatch gig, but you're right, they don't seem so keen on it these days, although again with some personal experience talking, life does occasionally get in the way and I have full respect for anyone who can commit to a weekly show; I know I couldn't!

Yea, the audio quality is not great. And one of their voices I find a bit annoying. Lol. But I keep with it. They try to keep it short at least. Ugh team Cangel. I haven't gotten to TGIQ yet. But Yea I don't agree with a lot of what they have to day about Angel the show. That's why I liked Dusted better.

I wanted to try that one because since I started listening to a buffy podcast, it made me interested in starting one for AtS too and there seems to be less of those out there. But if it's not good then, I don't know if I want to invest in it.

Maybe I should just try one that combines both shows?

Dusted did a few seasons of Angel 1-2 I think you can check them out.

Then there is this new podcast called "Return to the Hellmouth" they are only on Season 1 of BTVS but they say they are going all the way through Angel too. They dont seem to like Angel (at least BTVS Angel) all that much so I've grown a bit disinterested But you may check them out.

There is also one called Potential Cast. I had forgotten I subscribed to it until just now LOL so I have no ideas if it's good.

Tiny Fences is an old podcast, starting 2015 but I've just started listening. I'm enjoying it because one of the reviewers hasn't seen the show before so everything is new to her and she tries to guess what's going to happen. Does anyone listen to it?

I put it on my to-listen list but was waiting to try it because no one had mentioned it. Glad to know you're enjoying it.

Question : how does everyone listen to the podcasts? Do you always start from the beginning or listen to random episodes that you're interested in? I was tempted to do the latter because it seems a lot listening to so many podcasts for the same episodes and while I do enjoy s1 of btvs, I'm not sure I want to listen to 10 podcasts of episodes like Teacher's Pet... and I Robot You, Jane. But at the same time I'm a completionist and it feels like something to do in order...

Oh yeah I forgot about them. I listen to Tiny Fences occasionally. It's not my absolutely favorite but no major dislikes. I find their song at the beginning very irritating they are always incredibly off key lol. I think Buffering does what Tiny Fences sets out to do only better.

I def skip around when listening to podcasts.
I listen to my favorite episodes or the episodes I'm curious what they will have to say. I am going back and listening to Buffering from the beginning though.

Tiny Fences is good, I'm nearly through S1 and I've enjoyed it. I listen from ep 1 but I have jumped a couple of episodes, becasue I don't care how enthusiastic the reviewer is, I'll never like Teacher's Pet 🙂

Yes that really surprised me when I began Tiny Fences, I thought Buffereing may have ripped off some of their ideas. Tiny Fences even have a fashion section like Buffering.

I didn't catch the mention 😳 They are really good but don't seem particularly well know. Buffering has very quickly overtaken them, which seems a bit unfair. I'm still on season one and my favourite ep was Angel, when Amanda finally realised Angel was a vampire, her reaction was great.

I think when you have more than two people it can get too crowded and they have like 4 people on. They are all talking over each other a bit and its like being at a bar and talking with friends about the episodes. They were super into Waiting in the Wings and all seem to be very excited about all of the Cangel stuff.

Thanks, I'll check it out! Though I'm thinking for AtS, I'll need to rewatch the episodes and then listen to the podcasts because I don't remember them as well as BtVS.
 
I just listened to the Buffering episode of Angel (1x07) and I had the biggest smile on my face through the whole thing. Jenny is me, I am Jenny!

Loving your enthusiasm over this one so I'll start with it since after Buffering, I trust your judgement 100%!

So I'll start at the beginning with BtVS again and work my way through AtS eventually and I'll start an AtS rewatch soon to make it work better for me. Really pumped about this, thanks!!

I've not heard of Tiny Fences or Potential Cast or Redemption Cast or this new one Sunnydale Study Group. Wow! So many Buffy podcasts! Lol. I still have to give Buffering a try. Usually when I listen to podcasts I start at the beginning and listen to every ep. But I've already listened to a few Buffy podcasts. I've listened to all of the Buffy Rewatch twice, plus certain eps multiple times. Lol. So I might just end up listening to my fav eps from these other podcasts. No time to listen to them all! Lol

I have just reached the first buffering episode I am not a fan of. It's I Robot You, Jane. It has a guest and I just want to yell SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! She's so loud and keeps interrupting them to shout whatever she has to say about the scene they were talking about, I'm so annoyed. I hope this was her only episode. Thankfully, it's for an episode I don't particularly care about.

I listened to their episode of Welcome to hellmouth and it was okay and something I can definitely see myself getting into. It just wasn't an instant hit with me. What episodes of theirs did you enjoy? Maybe I could try not doing it in order this time to see if it's a good fit for me.

I started with I Will Remember you and I loved that episode, then I went back and started listening to early (Season 1/Season 2) and they are all over the place. I'm going to jump back and listen to a more recent episode see if its more like the IWRY structure which I found much better.

@dcai0830 recommended Return to the Hellmouth and I've been listening to them a lot and I thought their review of Nightmares is one of the best I've heard. They highlight how little Willow fears and how that the image we have of her character isn't actually what we see on screen . . . it was an interesting take
