I was a follower of Potential Cast until they got passed S4 since anything beyond that doesn't interest me. But before I went on vacation I went back to it to see if they finished Buffy at least and they did. Then I did the experiment of listening to Seeing Red and then the EoD/Chosen one and it was...interesting. Pretty much all were 'go away Spike, you don't get to do that (aka raping people)' and by the end of the show they were all on the Spike love train again. Emotionally manipulative storytelling focusing on one character really does work. Who'd have thought.
 
I'm curious as to how Buffering will address the AR and the Spike situation post Season 6, they usually do very well handling difficult topics.

I'm curious about that as well but given that Kristen has said Spike was her favorite character and Jenny has mentioned she was a big fan of Noxon I have a feeling I'm not going to enjoy the podcast much when we get there. That would be a shame because it's one of my favorite things ever now.

I have the exact same feeling. Same thing happened to me with Dusted/Still Pretty. But I'll hang tight while I still enjoy them.

This is something that bugs the hell out of me, especially in today's society. People always come across as having strong morals but if it's a character/person they find hot/interesting or whatever, those morals fly right out of the window. It's something that has happened with BtVS in particular over the last few years, whether it's podcasts or written reviews/metas. People have such a firm stance on consent, assault, abuse and domestic violence that they address in the early Seasons but when it comes to Spike it's like...what morals? Either you have a firm stance on a topic and apply that across the board or you are nothing but a fake, having morals only when it comes to people you don't find that interesting/pretty.
 
After being caught up on the Buffering Podcast I decided to try the Rewatchable one. I wasn't sure at first but now I'm really enjoying it! The format is fun and I kind of like that they're going over 2 episodes per week. The fact that there are newbies is making things interesting as well!

I'm on 2x07 now. I'd love to be caught up in time for the finale but I'm not sure that's possible...

Mitch is so bad on Rewatchable, you can tell he exasperates the others. I've come to really like him

I am hot and cold on them. Sometimes their newbies are so off the mark I find it distracting. My podcast test is usually to check out Becoming, IWRY, Sanctuary and Wrecked or there abouts. They failed my IWRY and Sanctuary test and I’m still skipping around a bit.

I don’t mind when podcasts disagree with my points of view on the show but I don’t like when they dismiss story lines all together.

I still love Buffering but I do notice that lately they are skipping over most of the Bangel scenes and just writing them off as cheesy. I’m hoping they don’t go down that same path others have taken.

Oh... interesting... not sure I'll enjoy those 2 episodes if you disliked them. But we'll see. I can't watch episodes out of order, I've never been able to skip episodes/tomes, etc. I like to start from the very beginning. The only time I skipped ahead and tried listening to an episode out of order it was for the Sunnydale study group because I wasn't enjoying it at all and was wondering if it was maybe because they were just starting.

As for Buffering, I didn't notice that at all? I'll pay attention next episode but as far as I know, they've never been negative about Bangel. Jenny actually seems to love the ship a lot. I watched the Getting in bed with Kristen where Jenny was the guest and she said IWRY was her favorite episode!

No absolutely nothing negative so far, I just feel like they glossed over a few scenes a bit and it makes me wonder if this is going to go down the “I’m over Bangel” path that other podcasts go. I think maybe I’m just so used to seeing other podcasts going that way that I’m paranoid haha. Jenny does seem to like them so far. And it’s so so evident in her writing 🙂
 
I've been thinking lately... I'm really hoping Buffering will do AtS when they reach season 4. I know they mentioned it on the podcast once because someone asked them during a mailbag episode but they said they were still thinking about it... I'm not really expecting them to because I feel like this is so much work for them and they might not want to add another 5 seasons to their already enormous task, but I'm still hopeful anyway! I'm probably getting my hopes up though.

I feel like if they do decide to do AtS, they might announce it during the Amends episode.

If I had to bet, I would say they are probably not going to do a FULL Angel podcast. They seem to be much more into the Buffy side of things than Angel. Although Jenny has said she is also a huge Angel fan and Kristin is SUCH a huge Cordelia fan maybe they will prove me wrong. I wonder if they will do some off shoots. I hope they will AT THE VERY LEAST do IWRY or maybe they can do an Angel catch up session like they did on the Tiny Fences podcast.
 
Has anyone else listened to The Buffy Breakdown? It's very new, they've only reviewed the film and Welcome To The Hellmouth, and I don't want to judge too harshly because they need time to settle down and stop trying so hard, especially the guy who is completely charmless.

I’m listening to Tiny Fences these days and. I enjoy it so far.

Lol, yes I'm not really sold on it, but it is early days, so I'm going to give it more of a chance. I'll keep you updated 🙂

I used to listen to Tiny Fences but haven't in a while. The newbie used to annoy me, she couldn't remember what happened in the last ep she watched and I wasn't convinced she actually liked the show lol. I might catch up with them if I ever find the time 🙂

I’m still at season 1 so we’ll see if I feel the same way later on. I usually reach a point where I get annoyed at s3 for some reason.

Overall, what are your favorite podcasts?

Lol yes I'm the same, I can listen for so long and then the cumulative annoyances start to stack up and eventually I'm not agreeing with anything the reviewers say. 🙂 But if I leave the podcast for a while, then go back after a month or two I can enjoy it again.

My favourite Buffy podcasts are Once More With Podcast (of curse) Buffering, Return to the Hellmouth, Rewatchable, Hot Chicks With Superpowers and I used to like Babes Watch Buffy but they've not done a Buffy episode since July when they finished Season 3.

Hope that list doesn't make me sound too obsessed 😀 What do you listen to?

Haha not obsessed at all!!

I love Buffering the most! Initially loved Rewatchable but taking a break from it right now. And I listened to a couple of episodes of Babes and plan on listening to more eventually.

I’ll try Hot Chicks with Superpowers because what a great name!!! 🙂

I also tried tall dark and broody but wasn’t a fan because of the amount of off-topicness. And sunnydale study group annoyed me a lot. I wish I could find a good AtS podcast...

I actually really like Tiny Fences. I think they're friendship is really nice. I also like Sunnydale Stacks but sometimes the guy on it annoys me. I still listen to Buffering but it seems more now about ads, merch and live shows than Buffy.... like I get podcasts cost money to produce but the constant "buy our merch, support us on Patreon" grates me after the fourth mention.
 
I really need to try Once More With Podcast, I just haven’t got around to it because I loved the idea of going through the show episode by episode without watching it.

We wanted to do something different because everyone does episode by episode. It is nice to know what episode comes next, I grant you but with us it's (hopefully) a nice surprise. We also take requests 🙂
