Have you tried The Art of Slaying? They did the whole of Buffy and finished in 2014, although I only listened recently. I've just noticed they're starting an Angel 'retrospective', and have just posted one episode. They sound like two 'good old boys' from the American south, but they are actually really entertaining and insightful, or they were with Buffy. I think they're calling their Angel show Path to Redemption.

Do you accept Paypal? Or is it still a cash payment only? 😛

I actually really like Tiny Fences. I think they're friendship is really nice. I also like Sunnydale Stacks but sometimes the guy on it annoys me. I still listen to Buffering but it seems more now about ads, merch and live shows than Buffy.... like I get podcasts cost money to produce but the constant "buy our merch, support us on Patreon" grates me after the fourth mention.

Agree, Buffering has really become a business, but I still enjoy their reviews and the music is great. A few of the other non-Buffy podcasts I listen to are like that too, full of adverts and too many live shows.

Hot Chicks With Superpowers is an awesome name, can we steal it?
A lot of the podcasts I listen to are getting ruined by ads, it's kind of sad. I mean, I get it that they need to make money, but it's getting ridiculous on some shows, the sheer amount of ads.

I listened to a couple of Hot Chicks With Superpowers episodes and I think it might be my new favorite podcast? It might still be a bit too early (still on s1) but I love the way they tackle the episodes, each of them doing a little review and giving the episodes a grade and the top 10 episodes thing. I also appreciate the spoilers bit at the end. It makes for a more interesting podcast for fans who have already seen the show. The only downside so far is that I can't tell the girls apart? I wish they'd say their names. Though it's not really a problem and won't make me enjoy it less.

And I am surprised at how great the trio thing is working for them? That usually doesn't work well. They also never go off-topic and seem very focused so far! I'm impressed!

Hi Maddie (first - welcome to the boards I hope you will go check in so we can all say hello)! It's funny that you post this because @Jam posted about this very same thing elsewhere just a few days ago. I don't think we have found one yet... the only podcast I haven't had a chance to listen to is Hot Chicks with Superpowers but most of the other ones I have listened to are Spike swoony. I will say that Dusted stayed pretty neutral throughout until season 6. Lani is the co-host and she is a major Spike fan but her co-host and ex husband served as a great counter point to her fangirling.

But the cool thing is a fellow BB member @RachM has a youtube channel and she is planning on starting a vlog review of Buffy for re-watches. She has promised to keep us updated on the board so maybe keep a look out. I'm sure she will post a thread to let us know when she gets something going.

In the mean time, I feel your pain!

Shameless self-promotion, but the board has a podcast. Since I'm on it, it's definitely not super pro-Spike, though Athena balances it out with some Spike love. 🙂

@WillowFromBuffy I've been listening a lot to Dusted lately and they adore Willow and talk plenty about her. I'm still on season 2 of BtVS though so I don't know if that's something that goes on. And of course they stopped the podcast during season 6, which is a shame given how interesting Willow's arc gets.

I properly fell in love with Willow during S3, though, at the moment were some of the infidels start to turn their back on her. By S6, it is only the true Willownites left 😛

The couple doing the podcast separated and so the podcast stopped... but one of the 2 (Lani) continued the rewatch under a different podcast name (Still Pretty). I tried that podcast for the season 7 rewatch and I personally couldn't last past episode 2 but you would probably enjoy it.

Think AH gets underlooked. Yes its a well written character, but her subtle performance is so important to making it work. Her range over the course of the show is amazing.

I actually listened to a few of her S6 reviews last summer, because @Priceless recommend them. She is a big Tillow fan, but I remember her getting mad at Willow for the things she said about Riley's wife. I remember every slight against my hero 😛

I am very behind on this podcast but Tiny Fences is very pro-Willow from what I can remember! (If you haven't already listened...) One of the hosts is watching the series for the first time and I remember she didn't warm up to Buffy, the character, until around season 2 but she loved Willow almost immediately.

Buffering is pretty good. Especially early on. Lately I’m a bit on the fence on them. They are like Dusted in that they are episode by episode and strictly spoiler free. They are only up to Buffy s3 right now so I don’t know that they will do Angel but I seriously doubt they would. But in terms of analysis Dusted kicks their butt. They are more about fun times and joking around etc. I enjoy them still.

I also enjoyed the Buffy re-watch to a lesser extent. They were also episode based and spoiler free. But that is Buffy only and I didn’t like the Angel re-watch. Those guys sounded bored by the end of the show...

So I had kinda given up on Hellmouthy (I tend to skip around episodes to get a feel for the podcast) but I decided to listen to their Awakening episode and then I went over to listen to their Lessons/Beneath You. They are not shying away from taking the Spike story to task so for those of y’all interested in that perspective it’s worth a listen. I do still think some of their episodes goes off on really long annoying tangents but these later seasons seem to be doing a better job of that so far it seems. Worth a listen.
