So I have no idea if this may have been posted before, let alone if I had posted it in the right section because it is related to AtS, but here I go...

I was using Stumbleupon just now because I'm having trouble falling asleep. I came across an article about a newspaper prop that had been used in way too many television shows and movies.

I wonder why they kept using the same one...not like it would make them go over budget to get a new one =/

Anyhoo....this newspaper has been used in AtS and I wondered if anyone else had noticed this because I sure as hell did NOT notice this lol

Here is the link for those curious about what the newspaper looks like and where you can spot it:

The Recurring Newspaper Prop

Also, this kinda sparked some curiosity in me so if you guys can think of anything else that may have made recurring appearances, post it here.

Haha, too funny! I never, ever would have noticed that, even though it's so obvious when you look at all the pictures. They might have kept using the same one because, like the article says, it could be royalty-free.

Oh I am not complaining, trust me lol I find it very amussing. Like there is this one director, I think it's Quentin Tarantino, that uses the same kind of advertisement or something like that in all of his films. Again I'm not entirely sure on that one so don't quote me lol

I seriously LOLed at this one! Nope, never realized and probably would have never known if not for this thread. Lol, thanks for posting and if I find any other recurring props I'll post 'em! 🙂

you're oh so very welcome. I'm very proud of my discovery since it's 2 am on my side and I'm running off only 4 hours of sleep in the past 3 days lol...

and I just thought of another prop, well a character...in a video game...

If anyone played the Legend of Zelda:Majoras Mask, and you talk to the travelling mask collector/vendor and look at his backpack, you will see masks of Mario and Bowser attached to it. Unfortunately he doesn't sell them to you lol

And the only reason i just said that is because everyone HAS to know about Mario. If you haven't, I'm sorry to say you had a very deprived childhood lol

Lmao, that newspaper sure has gotten around.
I'm fairly sure recurring props are common and I think I've noticed stuff before but nothing comes to mind right now.

(Though recurring wardrobe wise the shirt Charisma wears in "Your welcome" was seen on both Charmed (on Piper) and Gilmore Girls (on Lorelai) that same year, if it's the same shirt I don't know but it's identical.) 😀

Here's one that I noticed, a bit more obscure, perhaps, but something that a collector of Bowie knives or a fan of movies about the Alamo might notice:

The Iron Mistress became what everyone recognized as THE Bowie knife for years, but in truth, it never actually existed during Bowie's time.

Hey I remember that!

Excellent!

As for the whole Quentin Tarantino thing, it bothered me so much that I started researching it. Not only did he put in the same product in several movies(GO Juice, Big Apple Cigarettes and Kahuna Burgers), but he also has a lot more things that are his trademark. Everything from bathroom scenes to the specific camera angles and foot fetishes(you'll see what I mean)
