Redneck Avengers: Tulsa Nights

Haha, yeah these are funny. The Hunger Games, Walking Dead and Presidential Debate ones are my favourites though.
 
Just so everyone here should know, I find the term "Redneck" to be racist, sexist, politically in bad taste, demeaning to Southerners, and just plain offensive. If you're gonna make fun of an ethnic group, you should pick on the DAYUM YANKEYS once in awhile?

(You know why they call 'em YANKees, don't you?)

*slowly puts book of redneck jokes away* Excuse my ignorance but I never really equate the term redneck with all Southerns exactly, more a type of American.
I'm surprised that many people would just randomly label people from a certain state that way. As a foreigner looking in on the country it doesn't really seem that clear cut.

For example, I watched 'Justified', set in Kentucky and while it does have some redneck characters in it clearly most people from that state are not depicted as such.

And once more, I have to say that, if it has to be explained, it isn't much of a joke. Very few, if any, Southerners take the redneck thing seriously. I thought that the "DAYUM YANKEYS" would have been a giveaway. Rednecks are a part of our past and our culture, but it isn't anything that we really worry about anymore, simply because it IS part of our past, and we have moved beyond it. Keep your redneck joke book out, use it however you might care to. We don't take it any more seriously than Chuck Norris takes all the stuff said about him.
