Regarding Slayers

Seriously we dont know that slayers haven't lived to old age, its all just assumptions, if u think about it in fray we know there have been slayers since buffy that haven't needed to fight which means that even if buffy was the longest living slayer, which i doubt, then she wont be in the future

How is that random? If you're born with green eyes, there's a specific genetic reason why that's so.

I just had a crazy thought...what if it's not exactly random, but it's tied in with dates and times and stuff?

Like say girls born at a certain time (let's just say 12:34 for example) on days which are more say "mystical" than others, are the ones that end up being potential slayers?

I have no theory to back this up. I just think, we've got no idea how these girls are selected and this is the one thing that genes can't really control. So maybe it has to do more with the time that they were born rather than themselves.

Buffy told the potentials in Buffy Season 7's "Potential" that they were all chosen for a reason. So this isn't random selection over the generations. There is a reason that these specific girls have been chosen as slayers in waiting. I really hope Season 8 of Buffy explains what makes potentials "chosen" or special. Buffy said that there was a reason they were chosen. It wasn't random selection. Anya said that Buffy didn't earn her Slayer status. ("But you didn't earn it. You didn't work for it. You've never had anybody come up to you and say you deserve these things more than anyone else. They were just handed to you. So that doesn't make you better than us. It makes you luckier than us.
") So maybe the entire line of potentials was chosen in the beginning of the creation of the slayer.

Edit:

But if it's just a random selection, how are the English coven identifying potentials in Season 7, and how is it slayers like Kennedy had a watcher before they were called?

In fact I'm not sure I understand what you're saying BEG.

I think some potentials had Watchers, so if they were activated, they already has a Watcher. Didn't Vi also have a Watcher?

But it's a known fact that slayers live short lives and not many make it past 18 or something. Also before all the potentials were activated, the younger girls were chosen over older girls. Plus there is no proof of a slayer who lived until they were seniors.

there's also no proof that a Slayer DIDN'T live until a ripe old age of...what? thirty?
as far as we know, Robin's mom was probably the oldest Slayer on record...she was definitely older than 18 when Spike killed her, considering Robin was at least 5 or 6 by that stage. Buffy has lasted pretty long too, 8 years at the time of 'Chosen'.
and if younger girls were Chosen over older ones, then what about Kendra and Faith? they were definitely not little teenage girls when they were Called, in fact, i think most people believe they were both older than Buffy at the time of their Activation. if Kennedy was already in training at that point, why wasn't she Called instead? Kennedy was, what? 19 or so when she showed up in Sunnydale? and she's known how to use a crossbow since she was 8 years old, meaning she was in training for at least 11 years, which would have made her around 13/14 at the time of Kendra's Calling, and 14/15 when Faith became the Slayer. why was she over looked, twice, in favour of older girls if age is taken into consideration?
