Question Relationships?

Are you in a "relationship"? Married, engaged, single, is it complicated?
I would go for a 'it is complicated'. Basically, I'm single. But, there's this guy, a friend of mine, who I occasionally have sex with (atm not too much since hes away a lot). Now, we talked about what we want, and we agreed on just sex and hanging out. So it's not a relationship. But since it wasn't just a one time thing I would rather go for it's complicated (or actually, 'friends with benefits' is the correct term) than just saying I'm single. Though I am single.

Do you think love/being in love makes it easier to live your life, make you happier to get up in the morning?
Depends. There's a guy I'm in love with, does it make anything easier? Nope, not at all. He knows how I feel, actually even quite likes me, but he has a girlfriend he loves more than me. And the thing with this whole thing is how much it sucked for me. When I first met the guy I already developed a crush on him, but, not wanting to make things awkward, I would have never acted on it. But then he did. Of course Iwent with it. Fir that time we were then very briefly dating. But then he dumped me for that other girl (who is now his girlfriend) and it just hurt. If he had never made a move on me I would have stayed in crush land and everything could've been so much easier, but I think with his whole coming onto me he really just ignited the thing. I think I acted really mature when I decided to behave like a grown-up and become friends with him and his girlfriend, which is what the situation is now. It's been hard for me at times (especially in the beginning), but it's just for the better. But yeah, I don't think being in love really adds anything to my happiness in the morning.

Does the other partner ever truly know the other? Does anyone ever truly know anyone? Ever? Even friendships and that.
Nope.

Do you want to be in a relationship if you're not in one?
Sometimes I do, yeah, but I also really enjoy going out and just flirting with random guys. Though that's mostly it, flirting. I tried the whole one night stand thing and it was nice, but still, outside of a relationship I rather prefer sleeping with a frien over a one night stand with a stranger.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Fate? Meant to be?
In my dreams.

I don't want to be in a relationship now, and I don't think that I ever really will want to. Monogamy is greed.

I 100% agree to the last sentence, not so sure about the first one anymore, though :)
Yes i am in a relationship. it'll be 2 years on friday.

Do you think love/being in love makes it easier to live your life, make you happier to get up in the morning? Yes. i know that sounds retarded. but hear me out. its not the being in love part that has anything to do with arguments or disagreements. it's called human nature. your around someone so long, even a person youd think was perfect, you are bound to find things you guys differ on, and discover the things that really piss each other off. it's part of the process and i think, if handled the right way, is healthy. A relationship without arguments is not normal, i can atest to that, i dated a guy for a year, we never argued, but it didnt mean we didn't have things to say or work out. so it all blew up at one point and ended us.

But the actually being in love? i think about my other half every morning when i wake and every night when i go to sleep. The kind of feelings i have are the kind that, when i think about him, no matter what im doing or where i am, i can't help but smile. I feel truly, truly lucky to have him. And when im laying in his arms, i feel a sort of solace i can't find anywhere else. So yes, being in love is all kinds of wonderful. Sorry if that sounds hokey.

Does the other partner ever truly know the other? Does anyone ever truly know anyone? Ever? Even frienships and that.
No, i don't think so, but you can't get into another persons head. Everything we know about someone else is only as much as they let us. We've been through a lot of things together, and i think we've seen each other at our worst, but it doesnt mean we know each other anywhere near as well as we know ourselves. it can never happen, i think.

Do you want to be in a relationship if you're not in one? i never feel a need for it. I am never looking. it only feels right if things just happen, not if they are forced because i feel i want to be attached to someone.
Or do you enjoy being single? I dunno if enjoy, i don't like go around and flirt and flaunt my singleness lol. I am indifferent when i am single. it suits me just fine at that moment.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Fate? Meant to be?
eh, this is a hard one to answer. Love at first sight is a definite no. But i believe that you can have a intuition about a person, have a feeling that something good can come out of it if you got to know them, even if the relationship doesn't last forever. Doesn't mean it can't make you a better person.

Wow, guys. Really enjoyed reading all your posts so far. Sorry for the heavy thinkers early in the morning.
Very interesting. New perspectives. Thanks.

Single. Have been most of my life. I would definitely like to try being in a more serious relationship for awhile, as I'm getting older and many of my friends are married/involved in serious relationships/gay/living far away, which leaves me spending a lot of time alone. But I really don't see the relationship status changing anytime soon. I have almost no confidence in this area since I've been told I'm ugly about 5 million times in my life. It's further complicated by the fact that I tend to see the bad things in new people I meet over the good things. I didn't used to be this way. I don't know if there's just something about where I'm living now that I'm predisposed to meeting bad people or that I've just now met enough in life that I can spot it quickly. I don't know. I guess at this point it's my issue that I have trouble trusting people.

Are you in a "relationship"? Married, engaged, single, is it complicated?
Right now I'm in a relationship, a pretty new one, with a guy named Dan. He's sweet and takes care of me, and I'm happy, but the one person that I loved the most in the world who I was in a relationship with died. So I can't say where I'm at right now is exactly 'happy' happy, but it's moving on, which I know Tom wanted me to do, but sometimes it's really hard, as it was in the months after he died.

Do you think love/being in love makes it easier to live your life, make you happier to get up in the morning?
It definitely makes life easier to live when it's a healthy relationship. But in my old one with Tom, sometimes if we got in a fight or something I'd be pretty stressed over it and wake up in the morning and want to resolve it.

Does the other partner ever truly know the other? Does anyone ever truly know anyone? Ever? Even frienships and that.
Tom really understood me. He knew when I was happy or sad or horny or pissed and what I wanted to do and what I didn't want to do, even if we were talking over the phone and not face-to-face. He was like my counterpart and nobody really could have asked for a better first relationship.
My relationship with Dan as boyfriend and girlfriend is pretty new, so I can't say that he knows me all that well. Maybe some day in the future he will.

Do you want to be in a relationship if you're not in one?
Or do you enjoy being single?

I think that single is sometimes easier. Months after his death, that's what I told myself, and in a way, it kind of was. I tried some other relationships with some guys but they all knew that I wasn't moving on and said it was better if we were just friends, and it all worked out since we're still really good friends.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Fate? Meant to be?
I don't really believe in love at first sight. I believe in attraction at first sight, but love? No. Love has to be built up. And not over just one month of time. Usually it takes lots of months or sometimes even years for you to truly and really love someone. I do believe in fate and couples that are meant to be. I do believe that for every person there is someone that they are supposed to be with and spend the rest of their lives with. But maybe that's just me.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Fate? Meant to be?

Absotively NOT. I believe in physical attraction at first sight. Cause lets face it. If Prince Charming walked in the door right now, built like a brick s*** house , all perty and what-not. I guarantee you that the first thing you're going to think of is definitely NOT love. LOL...Or maybe I'm just a bit of a skeptic when it comes to the subject. I'm not sure I really believe in the words "in love". I believe you can love somebody, but IN love is a hard one for me....

Are you in a "relationship"? Married, engaged, single, is it complicated?
Im in a relationship, but me and my boy prefer to call it a partnership, just because the word relationship can mean so many things 😛 Ive been with him since I was 15, (am now 18). Its not that complicated for us at all. We have great communication between us and are very understanding 😛

Do you think love/being in love makes it easier to live your life, make you happier to get up in the morning?
I think that It makes it easier, for me anyway. Just because I know I have someone that I can go to, some one who is going to share my life with me and who is going to grow with me.

Does the other partner ever truly know the other? Does anyone ever truly know anyone? Ever? Even frienships and that.
Know thyself?
Tricky 😛 For me and my man, we have kinda grown up together, done school, work and soon living togther. I think with all that you begin to learn what the other person likes/doesnt like, what to do around them/ and vice versa. I think that is important, and shows that you know the other person very well

Do you want to be in a relationship if you're not in one?
Or do you enjoy being single?
I'm really happy that I am in a relationship with this boy 🙂

Do you believe in love at first sight? Fate? Meant to be?
None to all lol I fell in love, over time and developed a friendship with my man as well. I didnt instantly love him and it took me a while to say it to him, as for the both of us 🙂 I dont believe in fairytales, im a down to earth kinda gal lol =P

Are you in a "relationship"? Married, engaged, single, is it complicated?
I've been married to the same woman for 26 years. I don't think that it's complicated, but it continues to be...interesting.

Do you think love/being in love makes it easier to live your life, make you happier to get up in the morning?
Without my wife and the love and support that she has given me over the years, I quite frankly probably wouldn't be alive today.

Does the other partner ever truly know the other? Does anyone ever truly know anyone? Ever? Even friendships and that.
I still find myself learning new things about my wife, even after all these years. She is without the most talented person I have ever known or ever expect to know.

Do you want to be in a relationship if you're not in one?
Or do you enjoy being single?
I resisted forming any kind of lasting relationship for a long time. And I did enjoy being single, having no one to have to answer to but myself. But I love my wife and our collective family and enjoy being with them.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Fate? Meant to be?
Yes, I do believe in love at first sight, but I also believe that it's very possible to know someone for a long time before you actually see them. (That might not make any sense to anyone else, but it makes perfect sense to me) I believe in destiny, which isn't always exactly the same thing as fate. (And, once again, that makes perfect sense to me)

Are you in a "relationship"? Married, engaged, single, is it complicated?

I'm single, I think. I think it's easier being single..for some. Not me though. I'm very used to being in a relationship, so I find I'm quite lonely. I wish I wasn't, I wish I was confident enough to be by myself, but, I don't think I am. I've always had people around me, I was young when I got with my first boyfriend, and it lasted 5 years, and I thought it was forever. But, alas, it was not to be. I've dated, but I'm not a fan of the dating scene. Sometimes I just want my best friend back, and it's hard to face that it's gone, forever. Like, recently I found out my ex is going to be a dad.. It shook me up. I feel like everyone is moving on really fast and I'm ..not.

Do you think love/being in love makes it easier to live your life, make you happier to get up in the morning?
I think having someone to love is a great thing. Bad and good, it's all part of it. I've never been one to look out for myself, I always put others first, so I fit into it quite well, I like having to think about other people rather than myself.

Does the other partner ever truly know the other? Does anyone ever truly know anyone? Ever? Even frienships and that.
I don't think anyone ever knows anyone, I think there's just too much to share in a lifetime. I don't think I'll know everything about myself when/if I'm 60.

Do you want to be in a relationship if you're not in one?
Or do you enjoy being single?

I guess I want a relationship, maybe that's something I should address, my need to not be alone.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Fate? Meant to be?
I don't know, Jen. I think alot of people are "meant to be", but people are always changing. It's said, "you can never change a person", but I think that's shite, all people do is change! Evolution, man. It will never stop.

Have you been in a relationship that ended badly?
Yeah. It's crap. Betrayal hurts, especially if "love" is involved. Buuuuut, you gotta keep movin'. Can't sit and gather dust forever, it's not healthy.

Are you in a "relationship"? Married, engaged, single, is it complicated?
I'm in relationship for 2 years and 2 months 🙂

Do you think love/being in love makes it easier to live your life, make you happier to get up in the morning?
Yes, allways. My world is so sweet and happy when I'm in love 🙂

Does the other partner ever truly know the other? Does anyone ever truly know anyone? Ever?
It's complicated question. I think that my partner know me a lot, but... I think that anyone has some things only for himself.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Fate? Meant to be?
I don't belive in love at first sight. It can be something, like attraction, but love is something completely different.

Have you been in a relationship that ended badly?

O, yes. Two times. One is sad story, and other is... well, scary. I really sucks 🙁

Are you in a "relationship"? Married, engaged, single, is it complicated?
I've been single for a while. My friends at home were all single, as were the new friends I made when I came to school, but in the past few months, all my friends here are either in relationships or have like four guys chasing them. And since I have nothing resembling self-confidence, I forsee myself as being the odd-one-out.

Do you think love/being in love makes it easier to live your life, make you happier to get up in the morning?
Love is great. Not all the things that come with love are wonderful... baggage, pain, loss, etc., and life certainly has an uncanny ability to suck, but love itself does make mornings seem much brighter.

Does the other partner ever truly know the other? Does anyone ever truly know anyone? Ever?
I suppose it's impossible for someone to know another person completely. I also agree that it's impossible to know yourself completely, because what we see in ourselves and what others see in us can be drastically different, and both are pretty equally important in determining who it is that we are.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Fate? Meant to be?
I believe in lust at first sight. I believe that love is something that has to come with time, if not fully then at least partially.

Have you been in a relationship that ended badly?
The only experience I've ever had that could be categorized in this department ended badly on an epic scale, yes.

I'm single yo. I've had my share of relationships but it's weird because even girls that I've dated (even if they are really hot) like I think I deserve better because I'm so good looking.

Do you think love/being in love makes it easier to live your life, make you happier to get up in the morning?
Ok so yea about the getting up in the morning. It's easier because I feel like I have to get up every morning or else she will kill me, so yea, that part. But living life, I don't know. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.

Does the other partner ever truly know the other? Does anyone ever truly know anyone? Ever?
No I don't think so, but maybe it's just me.

Of course! What's love if the person doesn't look good!? If you see them the first time and they are smokin' then that's like love at first sight.

Have you been in a relationship that ended badly?
Only because she was hot but not superficial or shallow and we didn't get along AT ALL.

Because they have a penis?

in some ways being in love makes you feel more happier with the thought that someone loves and cares for you. love is a natural emotion that man feels in a very unique way. each individual has his own way of showing love.
