Faith shower scene...so full of emotion. I love that scene.

God how I hate Cordy's big evil voice. I think that's one of the stupidest things this season. Thank god it doesn't last that long. I've said it before, but I don't think Cordy does evil well. "My sweet"? <gag>

Wow Wesley is disturbing stabbing that girl.

I really like the Fred/Gunn interaction here. I think it's sad that they broke up, and I really don't understand it. She can't deal with the fact that he killed her professor, but she's OK with everything Wesley has done? Anyway, I think it's cute the way Gunn tries to encourage Fred: "Then the next time Minnie will take a chunk out of his cheese."

I dislike a lot of Angelus' dialogue post-cage, but I did think this one was funny: "Half of this crap is written in some archaic proto-demon-cuneiform, and I don't want to be rude, but I think the other half they just doodled."

And finally Andy Hallett is billed as a regular cast member! "Did I mention the only shots I'm good at involve tequila?" 😀

That scene in the shower is awesome. It is such a powerful scene for Faith. The rage and self-hatred she has is just overwhelming. It leaves me speechless. This episode is actually my favorite of the three. I love the shower scene that much. I also really love the Faith/Wesley stuff.

I love this episode. I agree that the shower scene was intense. It was such a great scene to watch. I think Cordy plays evil very well. I dont like the fact that she is evil but she pulls it off nicely. One of my favorite episodes of the season.

The fight scene between Faith & Angelus is epic. One of my favorite fight scenes in the series. 🙂

Remember about 15:45 Connor attacks Angel and the no-violence spell restrains him? Angelus says, "isn't that interesting." It implies he is somehow a demon, more demon than human? I'm not sure what that means. It might have something to do with the fact that he later was the only human who could see Jasmine's true face, and he followed her anyway.

Well he is the son of two of the deadliest vampires...not to surprising that he has some demon in him.

We did assume, up until then, that he was fully human. No?

He did grow up from a baby to a teenager. Vampires don't do that. I guess some demons do?

If he's going to be a demon, wouldn't you expect something would be done with that?

I never assumed that he was completely human. Several members of AI over time mentioned being unsure of what exactly Connor was. I mean it was obvious from the time he came back from Quor-Toth that he had enhanced powers. He is ananomaly, something that had never happened in the 'verse until that time.

I think this was actually the high point of season 4 for Angel...

we have the amazing Faith / Angelus arc, the drizzle off seduction of Lilah and Wesley, Angelus just being a right royal pain in the arse, the The Beast just randomly kicking the crap out of everyone in sight...

Overall, i absolutely love this episode... yes, i'll admit, i just fast forward through the "Booming voice of Cordy" and ignore all the connor / cordelia crap...

I love this episode (and the whole Faith arc in season 4), though I have an odd relationship with it: I watched it before seeing the rest of season 4 because I wanted to see Faith again. Because Faith. I like her far too much.

The shower scene is brilliant because of the way that it subverts the fanservice you'd expect it to be. She's such a bloody mess that it can't possibly be fanservice -- which I think they really underscore as she's stripping down and you see this huge gash across her back as she's taking her bra off. It's such a small thing -- a shot that's barely a couple seconds -- but I think it really underscores what's happened to her and that this scene is about subverting your expectations.

Another thing that really jumps out at me is Faith calling out Wesley for being too violent and ruthless when he stabs the druggie girl -- a complete reversal of their roles, yet the character development behind it makes perfect sense.

And, I have to say, the ending shot is one of the best shots in the series. Unfortunately, at this point, I'd already seen all of Buffy, so I knew that Faith wasn't turned, but the idea of Faith as a vampire is one of the scariest things in the Buffy universe to me -- she's already incredibly strong and has the potential to be a complete monster. Add the vampire strength and take away her soul? That's terrifying to me, so the implication that Angelus would turn her, and they work together as a team? Makes a huge amount of sense, but it's just terrifying.

And say nothing about Connor and Cordelia.

I agree with everyone about that shower scene. It is a goosebumps type of scene for sure. I also found it to be one of the few times that you can see Faith's tough exterior completely crumble, much like the scene in the rain with Angel. I love it. I love when we as viewers get a glimpse into a character's actions that nobody else would normally see.

Also, the original poster said they hated the big Cordy voice but personally, I LOVED it. Not in the sense that I thought it was scary or creepy or deliciously evil or anything, but that it made me laugh hysterically. The part where she yells out "Angeluuuuuusss!" and he ducks and everything,...it just makes me laugh 🙂 I always look forward to that scene haha.
