Remembering the ties Buffy and Angel have in S1 of Angel:

I am a new Buffy watcher, Angel too at that. I just watched the epp I Will Remember You and I bawled my eyes out. I'm sure many of you have already seen that epp many times over. I thought the Buffy and Angel did a fantastic job in the epp. Probably the best performance I have seen thus far.

Anybody want to share their thoughts on this?
 
I would if I had seen it, but it is one of the Angel episodes I havent seen! 🙁 I KNOW I MUST.
 
Most B/A Shippers find this one of the best episodes ever, I personally don't like it.
 
I am not a big Bangel fan so I am not sure if I will like, it as much as other peeps.
 
I loved this episode. I cried so much at the end, especially when Buffy says 'But I felt your heart beat.' That was so sad.
 
Thanks for the input. I thought it was such an intense performance. But you are right if you are not a Bangle fan you might not like it. There is some other good stuff in it if you like Angel though. When he can taste for the first time in many many years. I was laughing at that scene.
 
Yeah - I loved that one, Chasity. I'm not really a Buffy/Angel shipper (If anything I'm a Buffy/LazyDolphin shipper, but I don't think that counts) but I Will Remember You kicked my ass.

Jules - good call on the quote. That was rough.

I actually think this episode is so much better than the rest of Angel Season 1 that it feels kinda out of place! 🙂

It was so sad!
I stopped watching that one for a while cos it depressed me too much to know that Angel remembers it all and Buffy has no idea! :: broken
 
I am anxious to see what he does, if anything, with that information, or how he reacts on later encouters with the sultry slayer. I am currently watching disc 4 of S1.............
 
i love this ep,it's so sad and tender.i remember i cried sooooooooo much ::crying:: ,i couldn't stop crying,i cried for almost a week.
at the very ending i was hugging my pillow and crying.---''everything wut we did-it never happend-it did,it did,i know it did,...i felt yur heart beat'' ---gosh,that part killed me...
when he walked into the sunlight i was like 'yeah,god,tkx!',but then in his appartment she was wanna go black to sunnydale and said 'no,no,no,no,no'like a hundred of times,..but she stayed and rest is history,i was jumping and screaming like a nut,my brother looked at me thinking 'she's out of mind',i was a little...well,who cares this??,i better continue with iwry...

Before this episode I never really liked Bangel all that much. But once I saw it, I realized that they were truly meant for eachother. Which is why I firmly am against Spuffy!

Since I haven't seen Spuffy yet, I cannot for sure say that I won't like it. I do have a gut feeling though that Angel will never loose the status he has earned with me. As of right now I DO agree with you. Although watching Spuffy should prove to be interesting and I have heard, exhilarting!
 
I still wonder if I'm a B/A shipper because I saw Bangel before Spuffy. I do tend to sway to the side that approaches me first. Still, Buffy and Spike were so sweet in S5, but in S6, it got violently nasty. It confirmed my B/A ship.

For the people who were so sick and tired of Buffy and Angel by the end of BUFFY S3, this was a stupid episode that after all the past seasons on B/A, it was horrible to even consider dedicating a whole episode to them.

For the diehard B/A shippers, this was a godsend::dance::!

I think the Spuffy fans just shut their eyes, chose not to watch "IWRY," or dissed the ep.
 
Let me tell you, coming straight from a Spuffy shipper....

IWRY was a good episode. I did not watch it between fingers or close my eyes.

But I just wonder what would every happen if Buff were to gain the knowledge that the day did actually happen. It just makes Angel seem like a jerk (no offense guys) because he made the decision without her, just like his decision to leave Sunnydale.

And, even though He is supposedly so in love with Buffy, it doesn't feel like it actually affected him after the time went back. He never brought it up again, didn't show it on his face when she came back to get Faith. I just thought it would affect him a lot more than it did.

First off, could you tell me where in my post I said anything about Spike loving Buffy more. NOWHERE! I was actually trying to be nice about the IWRY episode.

Well, Buffy's not with Angel right now either. So, how does that prove she is in love with him even though she is not with him? (considering you are basing this argument on Buffy being with the person: she does not love Spike because she is not with him. Okay--she does not love Angel because she is not with him)

I understand that. That is why he changed the day back. I did get that from the episode. What I merely said was: I wonder what would happen if Buffy ever found out.... would she be mad, would she think about the way Angel makes decisions regarding the two of them without her? (You may recall that from my post)

#1: Don't you remember your first love and thinking that it was never going to end? That you would always be together? (Oh, and Buffy must not have been thinking of the future with Parker and Riley and Spike)
#2: key word: LOVED ~~you can love something or somebody till the cows come home, past or future. But sometimes you also find moments where you love other things as well.

I'm not trying to mean, I just wanted to make this clear. I'm sure you'll have something to say in return. 🙂

she's not with angel cuz they can't be together(the clause).she could/can stay with spike

you were right...about me saying something,..not about spuffy!...j/k everything is fine by my side,i don't wonna have problems with you or the other spuffyshippers.i think you guys are blind,but you probably think the same about bangel-shippers...let's not fight 😉...

what does the curse (aka-clause? silly) have to do with there relationship.

Unless you can honestly say that you are a Bangel shipper who believes that they couldn't survive without sex (But I have yet to talk to one). Most people say that their love is so great, they don't need sex to sustain it (or, a moment of true happiness... Angel having sex with Buffy).

So, technically, shouldn't the curse have nothing to do with their relationship?

Also, she really can't stay with Spike anymore, because according to her.... he's gone! I doubt that she knows he is a spook.

back on topic.... so, how about that IWRY episode? 🙂 🙂 🙂

he's gonna have sex with eve and he won't loose the soul.he doesn't love her.it won't be a moment of true happiness,he can have sex....s2:darla
buffy makes him feel truely happy,but not only when they are making love.she kisses him and makes him feel like a human,...makes him feel..which he shouldn't--the point of the curse is makes him suffer for everything what he has done,when he's with her he can't think about anything but her.he can't focus on a sweet and poor baby he killed or a girl he raped,he only thinks about her,about how much he loves her.that can break the curse,that's why he left sunnydale,he was scared of hurting her,so he left,....without say bye,they will never say bye.they can be others,but in some way,they're always gonna be of each other.they're soulmates,destined to be together,and nothing/no one can change that,not even a hottie blond named spike

*eventually,she will know spike is alive(well,undead,you get what i mean)

*back on topic:i liked it sooo much,...but at the same time it upseted me way too much.i understand angel's reasons...i don't get joss,why does he has to be that evil with the bangels??
 
Angel believed that Buffy deserved true happiness... someone she can make love with... something he can't give. And that's why he doesn't want her to be with him.

Angel didn't lose his soul with Darla 'cause he didn't love her. He lost his soul when he had dream sex with Cordy in "Awakening" 'cause (DB said this in aninterview when asked why Angel said Buffy's name.) he liked the feeling that the sex gave him, but not sex itself. He wanted to feel what he felt with Buffy and no doubt about it, Buffy was, is, and always will be Angel's true love. He will always be hers. Maybe they won't ever be with each other like that ever again and maybe she dies before Angel has his redemption, but they will always love each other.
