Replacing Kennedy

ok,so since most people don't seem to like Kennedy and Willow together,and since Joss wanted Willow to have a happy ending and Tara didn't end up coming back (as was the original plan),who then should be Willows love for season 7? this can be a character already established or a new character you make up.have fun everyone 🙂

I love Kennedy! Okay, now that I got that out of the way, I'll play along.

Fred. Oh my, Fred and Willow would have been epic. I can't be the only one that saw the chemistry between those two, it was like fireworks. And that's coming from someone while ships Fresley. I would have been way more than okay with Frillow though.

Winifred Burkle - it could be the real Fred, or just someone very much like her. Whoever it is it should not be an ultra-rich, privileged, brat (and I use Kennedy's own words.)

If it had somehow been possible, Satsu as a Potential would be my preference. Giles brought in one girl from China, he could just as easily brought in another one from Japan.

I like the idea of Fred and Willow a lot...I felt that chemistry right away when they shared brief screen-time (and that was obviously intended too). They would have been real cute too.

In all honesty, I'm not really sure that Willow needed a love interest in Season 7. It just seemed the writers jumped the gun a little early simply because they wanted to fill the void left by Tara's death (*Cough* Never happened *cough* *Cough* Happy Tillow babies *Cough*)

If I had to pick someone, it would probably be Fred. There was at least chemistry there.

Personally I think it was insulting to put Willow into a hurried relationship months after Tara died.
Joss did the Willow/Kennedy thing for one reason and one reason alone, he wanted to avoid fan backlash for killing Tara, and proclaim 'Look! Look, see Willow's still a lesbian!' 🙄

For me, 'Happy endings' on a personal level didn't really matter- they all just saved the world.
Buffy and Xander didn't get a happy ending, and they never tried to end the world.
Faith gets a 'hook-up' that's supposed to give her some happiness but I never really bought it.
Dawn was never giving a 'romance' option, where's her happy ending?

Happy ending should've been survival/triumph over evil, or changing the world to make it a better placeor even just fighting the good fight. (Not Fade Away)


But, I guess if we have to hook Willow up with somebody, replace Kennedy with Satsu, a likeable confident, dedicated slayer type- who accepts her calling but is less aggressive/snotty/bratlike about it.

Fred isn't really gay, and I tend to 'ship Fresley, anyway becasue its one of the best 'ships on the show.
I've heard Faith mentioned (I've recently discovered a strong Fillow fan-base on another site) but there really isn't much time to build anything out of this (unlikely) pairing- maybe if Faith had come back mid-season?

Other than that? Maybe give Xander the happy ending instead. Kill off Andrew and keep Anya alive. Hell, Xander deserves some happiness. 🙂

Buffy, Spike or Xander. Why?

With Buffy the love, toxicity and obnoxious melodrama ( I send you to hell! I fought your evil twin! ) are already there so just add some sex and you've got your instant dysfunctional Buffyverse couple.

Xander...well, they have a history, love each other a lot and understand each other. I mean, why the hell not, it's the last season.

Spike and Willow. Hottest couple or hottest couple? I think that first and foremost these two would make a super entertaining pair and personality-wise, I don't know, they seem pretty great for each other in that bullshit-free way.

Other than that, yeah, sure Satsu makes sense, witch and a ninja, bring it on. And then there's Anya. Willow and Anya. Dude. Emma and Alyson already kick ass in their scenes together, now imagine those two playing a romantic couple. Jesus.

It's so boring when a show has hooked up every main character with each other by the end.
So, if not Kennedy, just pick another (nicer) character. I'm just glad it wasn't Fred, Xander or something like that.

I actually quite like Kennedy in the comics, so if they had tweaked her personality a little early on she would have been fine for me. She could have been made strong without making her an annoying bitch, which I think they did a better job of later on.

I realize it wasn't going to work because of they needed Willow with a girl, but Xander is easily my pick here. I actually thought they were leaning towards that again early on in S7.

She shouldn't have had anyone, why does being in a romantic relatioship equal success, it shouldn't, especially for Willow. One of the main benefits of the comics is that they removed this fallacy... Willow is going from strength to strength, independentlyish

I don't think anyone was talking about success, just who they would have preferred rather than Kennedy.
