Repo! the Genetic Opera

I just saw Repo last week and I thought it was BRILLIANT! The songs were so catchy and it was nice to see Anthony as a semi-bad guy...although I must admit that I was really hoping something horrible would happen to Paris Hilton

I do love Repo! It's not the best thing ever made by a long shot, but it has some catchy songs, and some excellent singing (particularly by Anthony Head, has to be one of the standout voices of the film), as well as an interesting plotline.

I do like it, but god is it weird. It has some catchy songs. It's a film I would watch once and maybe not think of watching again however. I do have it on dvd and have watched just the once, me thinks it wil get a rewatch cos it has Anthony and Paris and amazing songs. God I'm chatting nonsense.

Anthony Steward Head in "Repo, the genetic Opera"!

Does anybody else watched this opera? ASH has a cool role there. He plays a Jack The Ripper in a future world. And he is amazing! I watched it because he has a main role. My father who got the film smirked and asked me:"You know this is an opera"? I was like"Oh hell... well let's give it a try". The music and the voices are so great! Love it! And Shi is so sweet! 😀

Why is this making me think of the Rocky Horror Picture Show? 😛

It's kind of like Sweeney Todd meets RHPS if you squint. Great film in the vein of both anyway.
He plays an Organic Repossessor, he isn't "Jack the Ripper".

True, but his he does wear a leather apron (a nickname of JtR) and stalk the streets cutting up people, theres meant to be a parallel.
I absolutely love this movie, I have the soundtrack on my ipod and listen to it out and about from time to time, Anthony is just brilliant in it.

I watched it and it was so amazing! Then I watched it again and a third time too! The songs are so cool! ASH is such a great actor! His role reminded me at Ripper😀!

Dude, my oldroomate was obsessed with this movie. I mean that's all he watched. I had no choice but to watch it. It's pretty cool. But during that period, I was watching a lot of Buffy. So I told him, "you know that guy playing with intestines is on Buffy too." "So? Who cares about that stupid show."

Two months later:

".....I seriously can't believe it's over....now what am I supposed to do with my life?" 😉

I watched it once. Much like House of Wax, Paris destroyed any chance of the movie being good for me. I love ASH but even the gratuitous loveliness of our favorite watcher couldn't help override the awfulness of Ms. Hilton.

Not my kind of movie at all, but I could watch ASH read the phone book, so I've seen it twice and was just thinking about another rewatch. I don't like Paris Hilton but I'm able to overlook her.

I just watched this a couple days ago. I found the story could've been done a little better but I still absolutely loved it, especially for Anthony Head's parts! I've watched it a bunch just because I love the songs and his performance while singing them.

I guess it's not for everyone though. I got my boyfriend to watch it with me 'cause I thought he might enjoy it and he was all "That was terrible! You only like this because Giles is in it, don't you?!" Maybe he's right and I'm blinded to the bad parts because Tony Head is so awesome? 😀

Either way, I enjoyed it and can't get the songs out of my head.

I was drawn to it when I saw that Anthony Head was in it, then because Sarah Brightman was in it. I just couldn't imagine why she was in this. I mean she used to be the No:1 singer in Britain, mainly for her various singing roles on the stage in the UK and America, but watching her as Blind Magg and then there was the duet with Anthony Head.

Has anyone else seen the delights of Hells Circus?
