So along with the Happy New Year thread, I thought it fitting to have a resolutions thread.

One of my favorite Christmas songs (Why Can't it be Christmas Time All Year - Rosie Thomas) says "later we'll make New Years resolutions we'll forget." One of my resolutions this year is to not forget my resolutions and actually keep them.

I also plan to do more of my homework and papers and not say "eh, I can pass with a C if I don't do it" because getting mediocre grades when I need to get good ones to stay in school because I got bad grades before isn't working.

I plan to be a tad more active

I plan to be nicer to my family and a more productive member of my household

I plan to NOT BREAK MY ELECTRONICS especially since I got so many cool ones for Christmas this year

And last but not least, I plan to keep my room clean longer than I did in 2010 (2 full months put together).

We have some similar resolutions! :D
I know I probably won't keep this resolution but I would like to finish one novel-length story, by the end of the year.

I also have some other goals too....

Unrealistic Goals
•Study harder.
•Become more organized.
•Get a job.
•Go to church more.
•Stop obsessing.
•Refrain from going on the internet too much.

The Realistic Goals
•Meet Logan Lerman and fall madly in love.
•Meet Dianna Agron and become the bestest of friends.
•Sing a duet with Danny Horn.
•Become a time lord.
•Grow wings.

HAH, my jokes are pathetic. But seriously...

LOL Alex, this is the second time I've read this and it's still funny.
I am setting these goals for myself:

*To stop cursing so much. I use the F word entirely too much and it's not ladylike.
*To lose the rest of my weight to reach my ultimate weight loss goal.
*To save up at least $5000 so we can take our kids on a truly marvelous Disney World vacation when my hubby comes back from deployment.
*To blog more.

Being lady like is highly overrated... or so I've heard.

The Disney one is cute!
I'm not sure I have much resolutions.

- I guess to talk softer/quieter even when I'm mad or happy( / excited ). Because my voice is naturally loud on like default.
-- Ohh, also! Think before saying. Because sometimes, I speak before thinking first. And I count it as a resolution for something I wanna work on.

-losing weight is always on a resolution list.😛 Never really successful on doing that.

zobothehobo agrees: YOUR VOICE IS NATURALLY LOUDER THAN OTHERS TOO?! My friends tell me to stop yelling ALL the time but I'm not, I'm just talking... and not even loud... at my normal volume.

Yes. For whatever reason I talk loud a lot of times. I don't even REALIZE just how loud I am and who can hear me. Especially at work, it's horrible.

caitaintdead agrees: Haha, same with the loud thing as you two girls! in high school I was given 'the loudest student' award... Haha.

Awww. It's something to work on, isn't it? 😀 I hate being loud w/o really realizing just how loud I actually am.

Yes, sometimes it is terrible. The worst is when you're out in public and someone complains. Like I was at a restaurant with my friends and we were just talking and the people in the booth next to us complained I was too loud. I didn't even realize I was being loud! I felt bad and embarrassed not just for me, but for my friends who were "at the table with the obnoxiously loud girl."

Sometime though, it's just part of my charm.

I like to think it's part of my charm :) It's because we're passionate people!
- I'm going on a diet, I have to lose some weight.
- I'm going to try to study harder this semester, since it's the last year of High School. Also, I need to pass my graduations tests.

None for me this year 😀

Makes the New Year a lot lighter - I got up around lunch time, had some pizza, my brother, his wife and I shared an entire chocolate bar, and n ow I'm eating leftover snacks from last night...life is great (sw)

I'm always in the category "I don't make any resolutions". But this year, it's different.
I had reached all of my goals before even being 18. So since then, I've been kind of, you know, living without really any goal, any ambition...
And while I was quite proud of my life before, now I'm more thinking "Yeah, it's not that brilliant".
So 2011 is my "WAKE UP" year!

My resolutions are:

x Being healthier. Losing weight without making a diet. I just want to eat better and do exercice. If I had the time I would take again kick boxing classes. And mine main resolution would be "Don't bannish chocolade. Chocolade is good. Chocolate releases endorphine. Endorphine makes you happy. Do eat chocolate."

x Working better for school. I used to be obsessed by being in the top students of the class (which I was in high school, I was always the second best student. Never managed to beat the First 😀). At the university, there is definitely not that competition feeling. So I didn't have anyone to try to beat. But the thing is, I dreaaam to go on a Erasmus since I can say butterfly. I do have a chance, but my situation is more critic because I still have two first-year exams to resit. So I really have to be really good during this exam session. My English teacher told me "Well, if you work for every subject like you worked in English, the Erasmus is definitely waiting for you!" My competitive spirit is back, hell yeah!

x Having my driving licence and buy a cheap car. I don't care how pretty it is, I just want it to ride! :tongue3:

x Having a tidied-up bedroom. Honestly, I don't even know what is it like to actually have a ground. I have to climb things to go from one place to another.

x Finding a new job, because I miss money. I'm thinking about university/langage/high school coach (it's really interesting, it's to learn kids how to study well, or to give them private langage lessons, so they will speak as funny as I do :tongue3🙂

x Read more. I haven't read for a long time, while it used to be my passion.

x Being more culturally active. Discovering more. Being more curious (I kind of lost my curiosity too).

x Seing more my friends when I can.

x Learning to be really good in photography.

x Being a Adobe-creative-suite queen. It's useful for my studies and my future job.

x Being less of a facebook addict

x Posting more in the shows sections than in The Bronze

x Tatoo

x Learning more dessert receipt. I love making dessert. Yummy!

x Waking up from this aimless stupid life! 😀

I like your creative ones!
~ Loose weight/excercise more
~ Get a website I'm working on up and running
~ Get my new bed sorted out
~ Learn more about myself
~ Make Abbie's year a good one

- Quit smoking all together
- Find somewhere I can work extra and bring in some extra cash while I'm studying
- Write that article about my thesis for the masculinity studies paper I was offered
- Work more on the relationship with my husband.

I'm allready feeling good about these ones! It doesn't feel like super hard ones. 🙂

1. Stop biting my nails (just like last year and the year before that and the year before that..)
2. Sort out my head.
3. Be more confident and unafraid to give the whole relationship thing a go.
4. Transfer to another university.

Hopefully I will actually keep these this year, but we'll see..

Right. I don't usually get that kind of thing (where people complain I'm too loud). My co-worker(and she is also a friend) when we talk or go out somewhere and I am talking too loud then she'll shhh me. She'll say "Shhh" or she'll tell me that I'm too loud. So it's usually like "Ohh crap. Great..."

hmmmmm Let's see...

  • Stop biting my nails.
  • Stop cursing. (ha!)
  • Stop being so perverted (double ha!)
  • Marry Amber Benson (this is actually more realistic then the aforementioned two)
  • Find a way to have Amber Benson's babies.
  • Lose weight
  • Dye my hair red.
  • Get at least two ore tattoos before calling it quits on them.
  • Take self defense classes.
  • Go back to school.
  • Find a safer, more relaxed job.

...yeah that pretty much covers it.

I wanted to dye my hair red. Not red red. Like kind of willow's hair. lol. But my stepmoms hair is red and don't want people think I dyed my hair that color because of hers.

Uh.. biting nails.. That was my last year's resolution.. And the only one that worked! :D
For 2011 I'm resolved to

- graduate with a first
- find a job & start paying back my student loan
- try low carb and shed a few pounds
- join a gym so my exercise schedule doesn't depend on the weather anymore
- move back to the UK
- be less bitchy.

Learning to use Nunchuks and learning Russian are my main two resolutions for this year, my unrealstic goal is studying harder. 😛
