Most us here already know BtVS by heart and seen it 10000000 times more or less, and there are no surprises. No first experience in rewatching.

So for those of you who've already seen the whole show, and aren't on their first watch, would you be willing to let your Buffy episodes memory be erased so you could watch the whole thing again just to expericence your first time's feeling again? Just do a restart?

Oh definitely. It would be great to be able to do that. And then I'd like to be able to read Ender's Game again not knowing the end.

I wish I could read Ender's Game for the first time without it being assigned to me for class. That colored my opinion of the book so much... Since then I re-read it and it's one of my favorites. It's not fair.
It would be sort of pointless for me because I wouldn't be able to resist looking at spoilers 😉

true, I'm like that too. But you'll still be surprised by the spoilers, there will still be new episode spoilers ahead of you
I'd love to see it again from the start.
I started watching it when it aired, but I was too young to properly be into it/get my head around it.
When it came around to watching it "properly", I could remember the snippets I'd watched as a kid, so not much came as a shock.

Most DEFINITELY! 🙂

Watching Buffy for the first time was like nothing I experienced with any other show. I fell completely in love with it and was blown away by how great it is.

It was a great feeling, and I would absolutely experience it again. 😀

exactly how I feel about it
I'm having a Buffy/Angel rewatch right now I'm on the episode S01E05 "Never Kill a Boy on the First Date"

haha i think about that sometimes, it would be so good to rewatch btvs and see an episode you haven't seen before!

Oh I would give anything for that. It's something I mention every time I watch the show with someone else. 😀

I would love to experience Buffy for the first time again, but I wouldn't want to permanently erase my Buffy memories, I have too many good ones I wouldn't want to forget forever.

But if I was able to take all my Buffy memories in a jar for a few months while I watch the series for my "first time" and then be able to put my old memories back in, I'd do it for sure. 😛

You just said exactly what I was thinking, but really couldn't get out. Reppage totally earned.

No. I started watching buffy when I was 8 years old...10 years ago. That would be like erasing my personality and some really fantastic memories. I'm glad that I started Buffy when I did. It's timeless.

good point
I watched buffy at the time in my life where I think it was most needed, and I would want to erase it as it was part of my life then! However, I still completely love it, sometimes I think even more on my rewatches because its amazing when you see stuff you dont remember 🙂

Absolutely, I remember how strong of an impression Buffy made on me when I first watched it.. I was so hooked on the show. It's still great to re-watch but I do miss those first feelings when you were really captivated by what was going on on the screen.

I'm with WileyDairyGnome on this one, really. I would LOVE to watch the show over fresh, but I would have to be able to put those memories back. As someone else said, I started watching Buffy when I was so young, that the show helped shape my personality. If you talk to me in person, a lot of the time I sound like I was pretty much pulled directly from a 'Verse script with the way that I make with the words. I can't imagine my life without Buffy. It was the first, and only thing that made me feel strong and empowered when I was young, when I needed it most. It gave me the ability to stand up to those who I needed to stand up to, even if it meant the possibility of a beat down. A lot of the time, it was the only thing that made me happy. I wouldn't give that for anything, because I literally don't know WHO I would be without this show, so it would certainly have to be temporary.

Yes. I wish I could do that all the time. I wish I could feel the pain I felt watching The Gift. I wish I could feel the blind devotion to Spike with no mind for context. just Spike is right. I wish I could fall in love with the characters, with the show all over again. Although it would be interesting to see how it does. I mean... I've always said it was really good Buffy came to me when it did. I don't know how it would affect me differently now if I could do it all again.

This thread really makes me want another series to watch fresh right now.

Except I put Buffy on such a high pedestal that it will be hard to trump.

I done did it. Ive erased my buffy experience, and am not watching s4 for the first time. Its tremendous.

Loved watching Buffy for the first time. Basically loved every minute of it.
So sure, would be great to do it again.

On the other hand... why do it again?
I've already had that experience. Why not try to have another one instead. 🙂

I did that when I first joined here actually, started from S2 and worked my way through with a mostly blank slate. I remembered some key bits but there was a lot I missed out on the first time around.
