In the website www.restlessbtvs.com, I read that Cordelia and Angel were rumored to appear in the episode Restless. Here's what it says.

There are rumours that Joss Whedon hoped the following characters could return for the episode Restless: Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) to laugh at Willow in her nerdy clothing from Welcome to the Hellmouth again; Faith (Eliza Dushku) for a continuation of the 7-3-0 stuff; and Angel (David Boreanaz) to do the scenes in the desert, translating the First Slayer for Buffy.

Does anyone think it would have been cool to have them there. I do. I mean Angel was a huge part of Buffy's life and I find it kind of strange that he wasn't in her dream. I would've also liked to have seen Cordy in the classroom laughing at Willow's dress. My guess is that she probably would have had Harmony's line right after Willow's nerdy outfit is revealed.
HARMONY: See? Isn't everybody very clear on this now?
I love the episode Restless but I would have loved it more if these cameos were included. What do you guys think?

i think it might have been very cool to have those guys included...i can totally picture Cordy in the classroom scene.
but as for Angel doing Tara's bit...i think it should have been Faith. the First Slayer using one of the active Slayers as her voice would have made it lot more...i don't know...connected?
and we all know that it was Faith who first mentions Dawn, back in the dream sequence from 'Graduation Day PT2' so i would have loved her to have been the one to say the line 'Be back before Dawn'
and maybe Angel could've been at the conference table with Riley and Adam? lol, might have been funny to see all three of them together!

The cameos wouldve been great, but im happy with the ones we got.

But if Joss wanted Charisma and David, I dont know why he didnt use them since they were still able to appear on the show in Season4.

The only hard one to get would be Eliza.

The episode had a big impact but if it had these 3 in it aswell, it wouldve had a huge impact.

i dont know. what you say makes perfect sense, but i kinda liked tara doing it.

It woulda been hot to have the original cast back together for that episode. Seeing as how Cordeila was more of a major role in the early seasons rather than Harmony, it would have made more sense if she would have been the one laughing about the outfit. Harmony really wasnt shown that much throughout the run of the first two seasons, and seeing as how, again, Cordy was a main character, it would have been more true to the past seasons to have her.

I agree with you all that Angel should have been there. (Of coarse I would have, right?) I loved the sequence with Tara and all, but it would have been deeper, in a sense, if it would have been Angel telling Buffy the information from the First Slayer. *sigh* However, no use dwelling on it now since its already done and gone... Woulda been hott tho...

i think both are good. angel because of all the reasons you said. and another reason tara was good is becasue she's female and all the slayers have been females. i think she did it good.

Tara was good. Angel could have been better. But I have to agree with Faith being the speaker, just because of the reason stated above. And I also believe she should have been the one saying "Be back before Dawn". And, I agree with the Cordy stuff. Seeing the whole cast from the first 3 seasons would have been terrific, but as that didnt happen, at least it still makes an impact. 🙂

Yeah...and I think I read somewhere here that Joss had intended Faith to be speaking as the First Slayer even in "Graduation Day Pt. 2." I could be wrong, though...

what do you mean? like, instead of faith being there, the first slayer would be there and she'd speak for her?

Well, I guess. That's just who she was supposed to be speaking for - the person giving her the hints and whatnot. She just took the form of Faith.

Angel...Faith...either one would have been much better than the cheese guy.
What was that all about?!

No! The Cheese Guy is classic!... He was totally nonsensical, but according to Joss that was the point!

I had no problems with cheese guy until he appeared in Buffy's dream.

All of his scenes with Willow, Giles, and Xander could be considered psychological in some strange demented way. But when he appears to Buffy for no reason other than to dangle some cheese in her face before her fight--he just lost me there.

And if there's no reason for him...why put him in the show?
I know...Joss show and Joss can do what he wants...

Well, Joss said that the Cheese Guy represented the irrational element of dreams... dreams might have some meaning, but parts of them are just pure gibberish, the Cheese Guy is the epitome of this.

They all dream about the same cheese guy.
odd.

Not one cheese guy, one guy with a bag on his head, one guy dressed as the Pope, and one guy naked.
Nope.
Four cheese guys.
The same cheese guy too!
Must be a closeness thing.
