Restocking the Scooby gang?

I think when season three ended and Angel/Cordy/Wesley left, the scooby gang could have been restocked.
You need as many people helping you as posible and when three leave, that's a huge loss.
Angel--not really a scooby
Cordy--same
Wesley--too new
But each did help out in a way. Too bad Faith was not stable, she could have been a great addition (two slayers on one team!)

Well it kinda was restocked.

Spike and Riley replaced Angel.
Anya replaced Cordy.
But who replaced Wesley?

Cordelia was a scooby. And yeah, as VisionGuy said, Anya replaced Cordy (notice they both have the brutal honesty characteristic; both are for comedic effect). As you said, Wesley wasn't really a scooby - he came at the end of the season. You forgot about Tara - she became a scooby (well, depending on who you ask). Regardless, she helped Willow become more familiar with magic and knew about stuff. Anya was tremendously helpful as a scooby because she had insight and knowledge due to her demon past. Dawn came into the picture, too. Although, she didn't really become a scooby until the latter seasons.

I think it means that more characters should've been introduced to help out the core Scoobs.

As said, Anya replaced, Spike came on, and then there was the introduction of Riley who could fight demons, and not to mention Tara with her witchy ways. There was also good development among the main characters to assist in demon fighting. Buffy got stronger, Willow became more powerful, Giles became a heck of alot smarter and skillful. I think the scooby gang did a wonderful job after losing some members. Who needs Angel anyways? 🙂

Eheh yea I don't need him in Sunnydale anyway 😉

But yeah, I never realized how many new characters there were in season 4. But I guess you could see it like Cordelia was replaced by Anya (obviously), Angel by Riley and Oz by Tara (a little bit into the season but still)..
