Return Of The Wolf Man!

For all of the lycanthrope fans, there's a remake of the classic "The Wolf Man" with Benicio del Toro in the title role coming out next year. There's an article at "Ain't It Cool News" with a couple of pictures of the star in make up. (Now, THERE'S a werewolf!!).

Incidentally, if you've never seen the original starring Lon Chaney jr in the title role, you've missed one of the truly classic horror movies, right up there with Lugosi's "Dracula" and Karloff's "Frankenstein."

Well, as far as remakes go these days, one has to be a little wary, as 95% of 'em turn out to be steaming piles of fertilizer. Still, I always hold out a smidge of hope when it comes to remakes of the old Universal spooks. "The Mummy" with Brendan Fraser turned out ok, after all.

As far as this Wolfman remake, they picked an actor with decent chops, which is good. And oddly, I always did think that Del Toro had kind of "wolfy" features. I guess we'll have to wait and see how this goes.

Del Toro is a fantastic actor. Can't wait to see what he brings to the role.
