This book is written by Craig Shaw Gardner and it takes place in season 3 when Cordy and Xander are still together. I really didnt like this book, and its got nothing to do with the lack of Angel or the fact that Buffy has a new potential love interest, its a mixture of the storyline, villains and how badly the character match those in the show.

There are a few references to the show, one being how Dru killed Kendra. If you havent read it then in my opinion I'd give it a miss 🙂

I read this book back to back with Child of the Hunt. Literally. I left Waldenbooks, walked over to Arbys, bought lunch, snagged a corner booth and read those two cover to cover. Then walked back over to Waldenbooks and picked up the Gatekeeper Trilogy and took it home with me.

That said, the two stories tend to blur together for me when talking about either of these novels but I do remember being really into both. I dont think they were as good as Gatekeeper Trilogy which blew my mind and there has been many more great books since these came out but I do think they are decent reads.

So to offer a counter to the poster, I would say, check this book out, worst case scenario you enjoy a decent Buffy adventure 🙂
