Riddle Competition

Since we all agreed on doing a riddle-like competition, I went ahead and opened a new thread for the planning of said event.

-I think we all agreed on calling it "Quest for the Slayers Scythe" or something like that.
-I guess we might be doing a 4 part riddle, which will be placed in our signatures
-When put together, it will tell the location of the scythe or something like that.

I've never done anything like this, so I vote on making anyone who has, the leader of the competition.

I think we should work out some rules, and decide how many points we should give out and what not. Is this something that we want to let everyone get some points? Or is it something that we only want to have one ultimate winner, like in the fic competition?
 
The starting point for writing the riddles will be deciding the specific threads and posts that each riddle will be placed in.

This will then enable us to write the riddles to point to that particular location.

We'll need to consider how many riddles we want.

Perhaps there could be tasks or challenges along the way? And we'd need to work out how to incorporate the sig thing.

We'll also need to enlist a mod to help us, as they'll have to edit the riddles into posts. Maybe we should do that first to make sure the whole idea is okay, before we start planning properly?

But aren't we doing the riddles in four parts in our signatures? Or do you mean where the scythe should be?

Probably a wise idea.
 
When Ori suggested it I thought she meant a riddle hunt in that we'd plant riddles around the site, and each one would lead to the next.

Then Jo suggested part of it could be in our sigs.

That's what I thought was meant, lol.

I think that the best way to do it is to have the very first riddle of the competition in our sigs. Then when they put our sigs together, it will lead them to the next riddle.

Also I was thinking that when we start the competition, and open the thread, we give everyone a heads up, but wait a few hours to put the first riddle into our sigs. Otherwise it'd be too easy 😛
 
Hopefully I'm not confused on anything here. 😛

I was thinking that maybe we could post the first riddle in the thread. We'd then give each house up to a certain amount of time to figure out. The riddles would get more and more difficult as time progressed, and if any houses couldn't figure it out, they would be eliminated.

Then, once the house figures it out, they look to our signatures to find the location of the next riddle. Like, the first one would just be handed out to get everyone in the riddle-solvin' groove, but all of the proceeding riddles would have to be found in different parts of the site - and, as aforementioned, there would be hints to said locations in the combination of our sigs. 🙂

And then the final riddle would reveal the location of the Scythe?
 
What part aren't you sure on? Well the overall picture lol... But how so?
