I've been rewatching some eps of Season 4 and is it just me or is Riley bigger than most of the men on the show? I mean I know Buffy isn't that tall but I can't recall seeing Spike or Angel standing next to her and utterly dwarfing her.
Or is it more his broadness? Maybe Riley is just wider in the shoulders than most of the other guys?

And yeah, I think Marc Blucas is really tall. But I don't think he's that much taller than, IMDB says Blucas is 6' 2" and DB 6' 1".
 
6'2" isn't all that tall (in my world populated by tall men), but he is fairly massive. And they filmed him to look that way, too, with him posing with his arms folded and being all military guy.
 
Yeah 6'2 isn't that tall for me either. I think it is just his wideness contrasting with Buffy's slimness that makes him appear so big.

My, uhm, little brother is nearly 6'5", so my sight is badly calibrated on height.

same here haha.

i always thought that riley was about the same size as angel. they're both pretty big guys. and buffy is really teeny so that helps the contrast. spike, however, while also being tall, is all lithe and sinewy and catlike instead of...sorry...where was i? haha
 
For some reason, I remember reading somewhere that he was around 6'5" and in The Yoko Factor, he looks a good few inches taller than Angel, so I have a feeling IMDB is wrong. But yeah, he seems really tall...plus, he's really built, so it makes him look even bigger and I should probably stop before this post goes to other, less family-friendly places.
 
Marc Blucas : No. When I'm not working, I'm kind of a Spurs groupie, because I played with Duncan in college. When I see those guys and I'm that close to it and maybe practice with them or see them in their game, I'm reminded why the little 6'2" white kid should not do that. It's been a strange thing to lie about my whole life. As an athlete, I was 6'4", and as an actor, since everybody is short, they're like, "How tall are you ?" And I'm like, "Oh, like 5'11". I mean, what an odd thing to lie about my whole life.

Blucas (Riley) once joked that in reality he's an inch taller than Boreanaz, but with Angel's hair, he dwarfs Riley, lol.

It's funny how he was so tall on Buffy, and if he appeared in S2-4 of Angel, he'd be the second shortest guy on there 😛
 
Yeah, I noticed that too. He's a pretty big guy. He's totally Buffs type, though - big, a bit broody, shy, beefy, cute, brown eyed, and totally devoted to her 😉 That's why I was so shocked when her and Spike got together - he's so not her type physically!!! Spike's thin, confident in his sexuality, blue-eyed, compact, sarcastic, and has a healthy lust for violence. He's pretty much the antithesis from Riley, Angel, or Parker.

That's why she chose him. It wasn't out of love or affection. It was an exercise in masochism. Spike loved her but she never loved him. Not in the way she loved Angel.

Oh wait...it's a trap. I take it all back. She loves Angel and Spike. No she only loves Spike. Er...
