I was just reading the As You Were thread and it got me thinking.
You know how uncomfortable it is for buffy when riley comes back married to someone else, yet Sam seems perfectly fine with Riley spending time with an Ex girlfriend. Maybe cause riley explained the whole slayer thing and how she could help them.
BUT....
What if one of Rileys girlfriends before Buffy came to visit him when he was with Buffy in season 4 (or early 5)
Do you think Buffy would be uncomfortable?
Because like I said before, Sam seemed fine (maybe cause she knew it was work related) but if for some reason Rileys ex girlfriend visited Riley (or he came to visit her with Buffy) for work related reasons, maybe she was also part of the initiative or something, I think Buffy would still feel awkward.
We all remember when Angel was pretending to be Angelus and kissed Faith and Buffy totally wigged.
This turned kinda babbly, basically if Buffy was sort of in Sam's place (in season 4/5 though) with some ex of Rileys visiting them/or them visiting her, and Riley and his ex being nice to each other like good friends, do you think Buffy would have been fine like Sam or completely paranoid?

Well first off, I think that in the earlier parts of the episode, Sam shows tiny, tiny, signs of being a bit insecure. But instead of letting this get in her way and make her a bitca to Buffy, or to Riley, she finds it more suitable to speak to Buffy about it herself and tell her that she's intimidated but that she also knows Riley loved her.

When Buffy 'wigged' with in 'Enemies' I think it had several elements to it. There was a bit of a build up to Buffy's insecurities and she seemed to have been dwelling on whether Faith was a more suitable partner for Angel, and to see that played out would have been hard. Also, Buffy was younger than Sam was. I don't always think that age has a lot to do with everything, by any means, but I know from personal experience that insecurities and jealous tend to overtake you a little more when you're younger. She would have been a little bit older in S4/5 and I think she would have handled it a little better, but I still think she would have struggled to hide her feelings. I don't think she would have been able to face them head on either, like Sam did, because Buffy doesn't always, or really ever, like to face her issues and deal with them like an adult. But I also don't think she would have been totally paranoid.

To be honest, I would imagine this scenario:
Buffy meets her, and is visibly uncomfortable. For some reason or another they end up alone, for a brief time, in which Buffy acts like a bit of a bitca to her. She then speaks to Willow, or someone like that, where she says she knows she was out of line and feels bad for it and then goes to find this ex and apologise and explain, to some degree, what she's feeling. Something like that anyway.
