Ringer picked up by the CW

I'm delighted that Sarah is going to be back on TV again, but I'm a bit wary of this. CBS said last week that they loved Sarah but only liked the show. I see this move as a bit of demotion and perhaps a mark against the shows quality.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

From what I've been hearing, they loved the show as well it just didn't jive well with the current persona and demographic of the network. The CW is a sister network of CBS, so it's still staying in the family.
Can't say that I'm especially excited. I'm happy for Sarah, I hope the show turns out to be good and that it get enough viewers. But if it wasn't for Sarah I doubt I had checked it out. I hope it surprise me.
 
I think the premise sounds interesting. At least it's not another procedural cop/murder mystery/doctor/lawyer show. 🙂
 
I;ll definitely tune in, even if reading that article made me face-palm. She's on the run from the mob and decides to take over the identity of her twin sister. And the twist is the sister has a price on her head too? Well, duh, I doubt the mob is above going after the families of those who piss them off.

While I am excited for her to return to tv, I am a bit worried about this show already since it seems like a very adult show that will be airing on a teen/young female orientated network and will have 90210 as its lead-in. 2 very different tv shows. Just doesnt suit the network that much.
 
I am angry that this is getting 90210 as a lead-in. That show gets less than 1.5 mill every episode. I hope it doesn't drag Ringer down with it.

On the other hand, maybe this is a good thing. At 8:00 Ringer would be against mega-hits like Glee and NCIS, which looks like it would attract the same audience as Ringer. Better to let 90210 get killed by those shows instead.

I'm so happy I'll get to see my sarah (she can be mine, can't she?... ok, I'll share) on tv again!!
 
Just read this this morning:
[CBS President] Tassler on how "Ringer" went to The CW: "I can only speak from my point of view. I don't how what happened behind the scenes at The CW but I know for us we were really excited about developing the show. It was a spec script that we got our hands on. We thought it was a very unique concept. We were really excited about Sarah Michelle Gellar. And it could have been on our schedule. I mean, like I said, we had no more time periods. And it tested well, it screened well, people really liked it... and Sarah Michelle Gellar is a force to be reckoned with. I mean she's got a huge fanbase. I kid you not, when we bought the script the e-mails started coming in: pick it up. I'm like, we just bought it."
