Rio 2016

Will be honest didn't even know GB were in the final😀 Well their not going to win lets face it😉

I am frankly shocked by your attitude, win lose or draw you have to support the team 😀🙄😉 I actually hated hockey at school, but in the Olympics it's wonderful 😀

Their not going to win😀 Maybe I will just stay nutural😉

I hated playing Hockey at school too. Think I was worried about getting hit with the stick😱 But yeah got into watching it at the London games 4 years ago. Wouldn't mind seeing it live sometime.

Can France cause an upset in the Women's basketball? Their holding their own so far. That Ukebu looks a player🙂

A fircely competative back and fourth match. A brave effort from the French team who should have a bright future. Think in the end it was big game experience of the USA which won out. Guess they will be adding another Gold to their collection on Saturday🙄

This Handball semi is just insane!😛 Some great defending from Russia and yet their wastefulness in front of goal has cost them at times. Norway just refuse to die and have just taken the cruical lead deep into extra time.

Channel 7 is still not working.

There is controversy in the Dressage world. Kinda a long boring story but pretty much a nutty old bat is sueing an olympic rider (the one that withdrew due to horse health concerns - after warm up - the story has changed) but no one knows exactly what for. No one likes Rollkur which this rider is known for but as it is getting phased out it seems really strange for this old lady to want to sue. I went to a few Colleen Kelly clinics, never liked them much, she kept calling me a showjumper like it was a bad thing.

I saw the aussie javelin lady dislocate her shoulder, love how tough she was. Puts soccer players to shame.

Quite a few swimmers getting into strife over there.

Wow those American swimmers, it's like 'frat boys do Rio'.

Yeah I find some of their celebrations a little over the top. They make top flight footballers look like the most modust people on earth😉

Well 9.00pm the Women's Hockey final tonight so there is still time to presuade me that I should cheer for GB over those lovely Dutch world beaters😛

What a classic Honkey final that was. It had just about everything and was a brilliant advent for the sport. And very well done Team GB! They took so much from the Dutch side and yet just kept coming back and never gave up And that goalkeeping performance was truly world class🙂 A feel bad for the 17 year old Dutch player who missed her pen, but they will be back. Right now Britian deserves their moment in the spotlight. Very well done.🙂

@Priceless You know I always knew they could win right? I just said they wouldn't so that the oppoisite would happen😛

Yeah, sure Mr T, I believe you :-)
Ouch! No gold for Sweden's soccer team. 🙁
It was closer than I thought it would be though.
Guess we ran out of luck after winning two games in a row on penalties....

Yeah just saw the end of it. Bad luck you did yourself proud at least but I guess the big match experience of the German's told in the end. What do you think are the future prospects for the women's team?

Germany will look for a double as the men also play in their final tomorrow.

I don't have high expectations at all really.
We got a bit lucky in this tournament and that can get us quite far obviously. But much must work for that to happened.

There are some younger player doing okay though so hopefully they can keep it up and surprise every now and then...

Great GB Hockey win, and 58 year old Nick Skelton is an inspiraion.

Lutalo Muhammad losing out on a gold in the last seconds was heartbreaking, the man was in tears and you couldn't help but feel for him. But Silver is fantastic! He is a winner in my book

It's ridiculous how little I follow the olympics. Seems Sweden get some medals which is nice. I followed the women national football team a lot closer 10-15 years ago but I'm glad they did so well.

I followed the olympics quite a lot in my younger years but it feels like a life time ago. Not sure what changed. The last time I showed any interest besides football or icehockey must be when my younger sister crushed it at Paralympics in Sidney and Athens. So a few years ago.

That was another great story from yesterday. Its a standout because for most the Olympic is a younger person's games. And that is not one of the more cerebrated events. I believe that Skelton had a hip replacement in 2011 also. Its a great effort from him and Big Star🙂

Another thing I should have mentioned about the GB Honkey win was that they have won all eight of their games in the tournament. Very impressive too. Its now important that even more money and focus is given the sport. We don't want to this to be one off but to build for the future.

"Honkey", LOL
And Adams does it again! Very well done🙂 I'd say this Gold was even harder to get as this time there was higher expectations and possibly a tougher challenger. And how good was Steve Bunce doing communtary on Fivelive? I could listen to this guy read the phonebook. What a great and vivid narrative he produced for the listeners🙂

What's gone wrong Tom Daley? He was fantastic yesterday but didn't even qualify for the final today - came 18th out of 18 🙁 Such a shame. I really thought he was on for a gold medal this time after his bronze in 2012.

I know, such a bummer.

No idea. Surprised he didn't at least make the final round. Maybe the pressure got to him, or maybe there were just divers who were better prepared on the day.

Yay, Gold in Mountain Bike to Sweden.
Been waiting for this totally random medal from a person that I have never heard of beforehand.
Feels like its always one surprise like this every olympic.

Perhaps she was a huge favorite in the world of Mountain Bikers. I have no idea to be honest.
But I missed the race since I haven't seen anyone mention her at all the way they have done with every other small chance for medal we have had.

Very pleased for you!
Well, as expected it looks like the USA women basketball team will take the gold, Spain with the silver and Serbia with the bronze (which is their first medal ever for WBB).
