Burt Reynolds, Hollywood film star, dies aged 82

Heard the sad news tonight. Am pretty gutted. One of Hollywood's most lovable and charismatic characters. Boogie Nights is one of my favourite ever films. RIP. My thoughts go to his family and friends.

Deliverance would be my favorite Burt Reynolds movie.
Mostly I connect him with movies like "Smokey and the Bandit" and "The Cannonball Run" though. All classic. 🙂

I would highly recommend what must have been Reynolds' final starring role in "The Last Movie Star," available free with Amazon Prime membership, though I am sure that it is available elsewhere as well. It is by far the best thing that he has done in a long, long time.

Been meaning to watch Deliverance for awhile now. Will have to do it soon. I hear he did his own stunts in that which is cool. Smokey and the Bandit and Cannonball Run were favourites of mine growing up too.

My son must have watched he two "Smokey And The Bandit" movies a hundred times apiece. He literally wore out a set of VHS tapes.

Reynolds is the one who almost singlehandedly stared the started the moion picture business here in Georgia with "Deliverance" and "Smokey And he Bandit." He always felt that Georgia was good luck for him, and he always tried to have at least one scene in each of his movies filmed here. The most notable was "Sharkey's Machine," which featured a fall out of one of the top floors of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, the longest such fall in history at that time.

My favourite movie of his is All Dogs Go to Heaven. Lovely voice but he definitely couldn't sing. RIP big man.
