RIP Chris Cornell

Eerily, the last song he played live was a cover of Led Zeppelin's 'In My Time of Dying'.
 
Urgh! This sucks. I love Soundgarden and 'Black hole Sun' is a slice of fried gold but they produced so many good songs. *sigh* And now I'm sad.
 
I only know the guy from his Casino Royale theme song, but it's probably one of the best James Bond theme songs out there.... (yes, better than Skyfall!)


RIP Chris Cornell. I feel like I should listen to some of his other stuff (I genuinely didn't know he was a big star!) 🙁

I'm not going to dish someone who just died but take that back you! Skyfall was a million times better! lol
First celebrity death that took me by surprise in a while, I did not see it coming 🙁

While I never listened to a lot of Soundgarden, I was aware of what Chris Cornell and Soundgarden meant to grunge, they started it all and if it weren't for them, we wouldn't have had bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam.

His death also makes Eddie Vedder the last one standing, the internet will have a nervous breakdown when he goes.

Due to the nature of his death (suicide) and the nature of season 6, I decided to address it in my watch through thing of Normal Again.

Yeah that was a really great song and the video is probably one of the most inventive ever.

I do have fond memories of the early-mid 90s grunge scene because my older brother was really into some of these bands. Sadly there are not enough scenes like it now. This another sad example of someone with much more to offer gone before his prime. RIP.
 
Poor Chris 🙁

This surprised the hell out of me yesterday. I have never been a massive fan, but I do really like a lot of his music. Love the man's voice. RIP
 
How sad. I was a big Audioslave fan in high school, I had all 3 of their albums. It wasn't until a few years ago that I listened to Soundgarden. Cornell definitely has a unique voice that identifies his music. He will be missed. My favorite song of his is Out of Exile by Audioslave. RIP

 
Oddly enough I've revisited his Bond theme over the last 24 hours and actually like it a bit more than I did. Certainly I think he did a good job with the vocals.
