RIP Diana Rigg

Mrs Peel is an icon. I'm not sure that show has ever been off television in the UK. She was smart, capable and sexy. And a Mrs, which was very unusual.

Okay, so maybe it's just US people don't know of her

Mrs Peel was ahead of her time, especially when compared to female characters like Samantha Stevens, Ginger, Mary Ann, and of course, Jeannie.
Yes, I know of the Widow Peel, but the Avengers has never aired in the US during my lifetime, at least as far as I remember.

Now that I think of it, Black Widow reminds me of Emma Peel in many ways.

Rest in peace, Diana. ❤

RIP!
Talk about 2 iconic characters!
You'll be missed!

As an American I'm not familiar and not seen her as Emma Peel in The Avengers, although I should try to watch it. But I really loved her character on Game of Thrones, Lady Olena. The way she portrayed the character was perfect. She was cold, calculated, yet really cared about her family. She was bad ass until her last breath. She was probably my second favorite character on that show. She lived a long, wonderful life, something to celebrate. RIP Diana Rigg.

RIP to a British icon. Remember watching the Avengers as kid am probably due a re-watch. Its fitting that to date she was the only Mrs. 007 too. She was also very funny in a cameo in Extras.

How many of you remember that Ms Rigg was the major love interest in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," the first non-Sean Connery James Bond movie? It was supposed to be her big move into major motion pictures, but Lazenby's interpretation of Bond, and therefore the movie, wasn't very well received. Whether that effected her career from that point onor not, I couldn't say, but I can't remember seeing her in anything in the U S after that.
