The actor, who has died aged 76, was best known for the perpetually sweaty character to whom the bar gave a huge cheer each episode – ‘NOOOORM!’

A comic legend. A true staple of the 80s and early 90s. Cheers wouldn't be the same without him. Thoughts to his family, friends and other Cheers cast members.

Aw, RIP. That is sad. I was never big on Cheers, but he was in a lot of lesser quality movies, of the kind I like, so I will miss seeing him!

There goes one more name from my young adulthood! Me and my partner never missed cheers because he was addicted. Thanks to him i got addicted to MASH and watched a ton of cheers and other comedy! Now most of the MASH cast are gone and Cheers and others are beginning to leave the stage too.

Hope you are meeting all your heroes in heaven my love! I still miss you introducing me to all your favorites!
