Another British legend gone. RIP. What a great actor. That twist in Alien never fails to hit me. The Sweet Here After is a very underrated indie gem.

Oh, "The Sweet Hereafter" was one of the dvds I found when moving recently. Perhaps it is time for a rewatch.

I was sad to here this, of course I love him as Bilbo Baggins ( a big part of why Fellowship is my favorite of the three), but he was also great in other roles such as The Fifth Element, Alien, The Day After Tomorrow (yes, I really like the movie) and From Hell. He was always a delight to see pop up in movies. He will be missed RIP.

Just read a nice piece by Peter Jackson about his experience filming with Ian Holm.

Can't say that I know much about him myself, didn't even realize he had reached that respectable age.
My biggest memory is from Alien and the Fellowship movie.
