RIP, John Hurt

Oh no! That's so sad! I liked John Hurt, he was a great actor.
 
Elephant Man, Aliens? Sod them he was a Dr. Who how much more famous can you be?
He will be missed.
 
What a legend, he will be sadly missed 🙁
 
I remember him mostly from Alien myself.
But what a resume he had.
Sad to see him gone...

To paraphrase Peter Bradshaw on tv just now, he was a class act that made everything look like a million dollars. Sadly missed. RIP
 
Aw man, John Hurt was a legend. And from the sounds of it, he was a lovely man. I didn't even realise he was 77.

Though I have to say I didn't think he looked well when he appeared on Dr Who.....He looked much older than his years.....

This year is beginning to look eerily like 2016 for celebrity deaths
(Okay a lot of it is because we are noticing them more now....but I'd rather they didn't happen so damn often) 😕

I think this year is going to be the year of big celebrity deaths. Bruce Forsyth will probably go this year or next. Emily Bishop actress will probably be this year. The Queen and Prince Philip are in their 90s so one of them might go. There is a whole host of older actors as well. Patrick Stewart, Ian Mckellan, Adam West, Dianne Wiest. That's not even counting non age-related deaths. The Oscars/Bafta remembrance reel is going to be very long this year.

That's a vry sad news that I first read on Twitter. Sadly the big ones are all leaving us. I think this is gonna be a tough year for us all for many reasons but this aint gonna help so maybe we shall take a breathe deep and enjoy what we've got from our favourite stars.

I always thought his portrayal of Caligula was more entertaining than Malcolm McDowell's. I'll miss him. 🙁
