Sad news.

Lemmy Kilmister, founding member and frontman of Motörhead. has died. He was 70 years old.

News of his death was first reported by radio and TV host Eddie Trunk, who was a longtime friend of Lemmy. Several others have since confirmed the news, including Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, who wrote on Twitter, “Lost one of my best friends, Lemmy, today. He will be sadly missed. He was a warrior and a legend. I will see you on the other side.”

There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family.

We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words.

We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music LOUD.

Yeah, awful news this morning that hit me surprisingly hard.
He had obviously aged a lot lately. Not looking his old self. But I was not prepared for it to end this soon.

There have been very few musicians that I've truly idolize over the years. Lemmy was one of the them though.
He was a true legend.

I regret no seeing him when they played here earlier this month. Would've been great to see him one more time.
Absolutely loved how they ended their shows with Overkill, brilliant stuff.

I'm very saddened by this news. Lemmy was an icon. I've known him and his music since I can remember.

I was privileged enough to have seen Lemmy and Motörhead live 7 times, the last time was just last month, and each one was a blast and he gave everything. He will be dearly missed, as well as his yearly visit to Germany. Me and my friends going to see Motörhead almost every year became a tradition.

Rest in Peace, Lemmy. Your music will live forever. You're a true legend.

He was one of a very few, he had a will and an ability to be a great person.
Yet when on stage, doing interviews he could put on a performance fit for an Oscar.
Some people deserve to be remembered.
 
Sad, sad news. He was a legend and will be missed. I had the privilege to see Motörhead early this year, and it was great - they had to cancel the concert in São Paulo because of Lemmy's health, but the next week he was OK and giving his best. Very sad news.
