Yeah I'm getting an ominous feeling about it too, especially since Pete Doherty is playing the Zombie villain of the piece, saw an article on that on teletext the other day.

Admittedly I'd never really heard of him before outside the odd mention of his name, but after looking him up on Wiki yes I feel a certain sense of dread, luckily he'll be buried under makeup and reduced to being a bad guy that in keeping with Zombies, will probably be hacked to death. 😀

Well theres not much we can do but hope that during the development stages they change the casting choices and pick someone better. I'd love to see any number of old British actors take a stab at playing an ancient spirit/zombie that Giles goes after.
 
Well yeah instead of some heroin fiend! There are so many good actors out there why is this fella getting a shot(no pun intended).
 
He's Kate Moss's ex...remember she got caught doing a line? guess who gave it to her? He was in a band called The Libertines and is now in Babyshambles...he's like Britney Spears but much much worse!

Don't feel bad, I'm from the UK and even I never really knew who he was until now. Look him up on Wikipedia, it has a good summary of him there, basically a washed up performer/actor whoes been on drugs a lot.

Wasn't the Pete Doherty casting a rumor though? I read of his casting in an article and then I read in a different article that no, that had fell through, and wasn't happening as it had been reported.
I really hope he isn't going to be in it. On principle more than anything. I mean he's a serious drug addict who, in my opinion, is a waste of space and oxygen. I have real issues with promoting and giving work to stars who are such drastic and obvious drug abusers. It's as though the producers/directors/casting directors are condoning it instead of condemning. Just like I don't believe Kate Moss should be supported or given work. (Some of you will probably end up having mondo issues with this opinion, haha, but I'm afraid that's just the way I feel).
However, even if he *is* in it, I will be very much unhappy and disgusted for want of a better word, but my love of Tony Head and getting to see Rupert Giles again will probably outweigh the Pete Displeasure.

Hmm... I have no idea who Pete Doherty is. Also, I don't really care about drug usage or Hollywood scandals. I mean, if you only hurt yourself, then shouldn't you be well within your rights? It's when others are harmed -- when the rights of others are infringed upon -- that I get up in arms. For example, I have a huge issue with people who drive while knowingly under the influence of a mind altering substance, but I don't care at all whether or not people do it at home. Even if I did have a problem with it, I don't think I'd let it get in the way of my love for Giles. Giles is awesome! And he's going to find his way back onto my TV screen. What's not to love?

Come on, people! Who cares about casting some drug addict when Rupert Giles is back?!

I am not trying to be mean or anything but I wont watch it. As much as I want to support the idea of ripper and Joss, it just wont be the same for me. I realize ASH may not be able to play this type of part anymore, maybe they are looking for someone younger, but well, it's just not for me if it doesn't have him.
I can't help it. I'm a pain.

Anywho, I'm so glad it's happening! I heard a rumour of this earlier in the year, and I'm please it's actually happeneing. Though Pete Doherty sucks >.< But I'll live 😛
