I would definitely rather have a spin-off show be about different characters... I don't really know how a Giles-centric show would really pan out. I say Joss should just make a sitcom titled Willow!

I wouldn't mind a Giles one. But I would prefer to have a spin off about Wesley.

I was always intrigued about Giles as "Ripper", and would most certainly adore this project were it to ever come about.

As a televised miniseries, I think it could really work quite well. I'd like to keep it simply though, without Buffy being a part of it (at least not more than a cameo). As much as I'd love to see SMG Buffy in something new, it wouldn't seem right to have Buffy take up a considerable amount of time on a Giles special.

They could at least give us a Giles spin-off comic that would be canon.

Last autumn, Tony Head said something to "SciFiNow" about it not being as easy as Whedon making something he wants to make. There's so many right holders tied in, that complicates things. So as of now, I'm not holding my breath waiting for "Ripper" to happen, however much I would love for it to happen.

He also said in a more recent interview that it's probably not going to happen now. Can't elaborate because I don't know how to hide the spoilers.

I would love to see a Ripper spin off but it will probably won't happen.... 🙁

Shame it's not going to happen, would have loved to see the darker side to Giles and there isn't enough ASH on the television these days.
