So I was curiously checking Wikipedia for some random infos about the Whedonverse and I read the latest news about the tv movie(or tv series) about our good old Giles... From the last sentence it seems that it could still happen. See for yourself:

'With the cancellation of Dollhouse Whedon has been locked in talks over the rights issues of the character of Rupert Giles. This is the only hurdle with the BBC having funding, location and local production team in place, with Whedon delivering the initial script. It still remains unclear whether it would go beyond a 90 minute TV special or become a stand-alone miniseries.'

So anyone else have any other news? Anyone as excited as me to watch Anthony Head play as Giles again? =P

GO!

I'm not sure how far they'd be able to go with this as far as a series is concerned. ASH is pretty rapped up in 'Merlin' right now, and they film in France for most of the year, as far as I'm aware, so a series might be out of the question.

A stand alone made-for-TV movie, on the other hand, might be completely possible.

I'd love to see this verse back on TV in any sort of form, but we have to take the S8 comics into consideration. How's that going to play into 'Ripper' if it does get the go-ahead?

Personally, I'm still holding out for 'Faith, the Vampire Slayer'. I mean, Joss and Eliza are both, technically, out of work now, lol, as is Summer Glau...and Enver What's-His-Name. LOL

I guess, but every time I read about spin-offs before they were either done for or there had been no news for years! So seeing some recent news is pretty interesting. With Dollhouse over, this could really happen =/ I'll cross my fingers I guess.

Yeah, I think that a movie about Faith would be best. They could have it taking place between the end of Season 7 and the beginning of Season 8 and use it to fill in the blanks about what took place during that time. That way, it wouldn't mess with Season 8 canon, and there would even be enough time there for several movies or a miniseries. And I'm sure that Joss could find something for Summer to do in a Slayer movie.

This would be amazing<3 Duh. 😛
I agree i would love a Faith spinoff, but i doubt it'll happen.🙁

I wouldn't believe this because Wikipedia isn't reliable. Anyone can go in there and edit the information.

Even though it would be more Buffyverse stuff, I'm happy with the seven seasons of Buffy as they are. Seems like it's had its time. Plus, if there was definitely gonna be a new show, I don't think I'd want one centred around Giles only.

Personally Ripper doesn't interest me and Wiki isn't that reliable. Having said that Joss is going to be revealing his new project soon so you never know.

They could do a young(er) ripper, thus removing Head from the equation and not having to deal with any potential discrepancies from the comics. A prequel to Buffy if you want to call it.

I don't think we should be holding our breath...

What's Next? Glee gig aside, Joss asks that fans please bear with him while he figures out his next move. "I do hope to create something in this calendar year, as well as do jobs for other people, but I haven't investigated anything besides Glee," which he explains is a huge passion project for him. "That'll actually take a chunk of time. It means a lot to me—I really want to get it right. So that'll eat up the better part of a month, intellectually, so I'm holding out for a Joss Whedon joint."

YES, YES, YES!!!

I would love to see FtVS as a show or even just a mini series!!! I would give anything for it to finally happen. I know it would be a great show. Could you imagine? I can see the promos now. I think it would do quite well.
