Joss and ASH have both said they would like to do it but it's subject to other commitments, money, TV companies etc., etc.

Here's hoping it doesn't get stuck in pre-production hell...

It wasn't going to be a show anyways. It was going to be a two hour TV movie. It was going to only air in Europe anyways, according to Joss. I just remember reading this off a site when I was looking for the Buffy Animated show.
