Has anyone else seen this?

I think that Mr Downey did an excellent job of controlling his temper with an interviewer who clearly can't take the hint that he's getting too personal with his questions. I've seen this before, mainly with Rosie's O'Donnaldl interview of Tom Selleck, where an actor comes on a show to plug his latest movie, with the understanding that that will be the subject discussed, and then has something like this happen.

That's Channel 4 for you- always trying to be 'controversial' simply for the sake of it. It's tired, rude and actually really counter-productive since these people don't want to talk to them again afterwards.

He handled that well. Some people will attack him saying it was unprofessional to walk out. But with the kind of questions the interviewer was asking I'm surprise he didn't walk off earlier.

Yea I saw that. That guy kept pushing, even though RDJ made it clear he did not want to. He did a good job, wasn't rude or said anything mean, just got up and left. I think his manager or whoever off to the side was like okay you can get up and leave now and so he did.

Yeah what a dick head that interviewer was🙁 Its a shame because it had actually been an interesting interview up to that point, and him going down that road was totally out of context and uncalled for. That stuff was years ago and its time to move on. I agree that RDJ handled it well and was well within his rights to walk out.

Krishnan Guru-Murthy has built quite a reputation for stuff like this. I'm pretty sure RDJ isn't the first person to walk out of one of his interviews and he certainly isn't the first to lose patience with him. He knows when the interviewee is clearly uncomfortable and carries on anyway. He knows that these questions are pretty damn inappropriate for a movie publicizing interview, but he goes there anyway. Then again, maybe he's realised that's how to make your interviews go viral... I mean people will sure as hell know his face now.

And what @thetopher says is very true. Channel 4 do have a seedy way of dredging up "controversy" and "drama" wherever they catch the slightest sniff of it. Should see some of their documentaries...or not actually.

Which Tarantino interview are we talking about here? If its the one where he lost it because he was being asked about his film maybe being racist then I am actually more on the side of the interviewer on that one. When you make a film like DU then I think that sort of question is fair enough espically when the interview is promoting that film. Unlike Tarantino RDJ kept his nerve.

I think in the Tarantino one, Murphy was asking something along the lines of whether he thought his movies exacerbated violence and gun crime. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly; I'll have to track it down and re-watch it.

You don't need to track it down having seen this one I am pretty sure the guy is a hack, who would even make Tarantino look good in an interview😀
