Haven't seen him since NFFY, and issue 26 recently reuinted everybody in the main cast, even Oz. So, wtf is he? We know he's not Twilight because in A Beautiful Sunset we see that Twilight's not a black guy, and since he's leading a group of Slayers in Cleveland, why can't he rejoin with everybody else? Are things just that peachy in Cleveland where Wood has no need to hide from humans, or even keep in any real touch with Buf and the gang?

I don't know where Robin is, but I don't think he plays much importance to the story of season 8 yet. If he was important for anything he would have appeared more by now.

I don't think this is a situation where it matters whether or not he plays an enormous role in season 8. We see Leah all the time, and she's just another chosen--what's her big role? The important part about Wood is that he runs the Cleveland slayer team, and if the slayers are all really on the run (which we're supposed to believe that they are) then there really isn't any excuse for leaving him out of the big reuinion in issue 26, or at least mentioning why he isn't there, because he and his group of slayers should be just as equally on the run. Consider the fact that Andrew & Co came from Itlay, Giles and Faith from Germany, and Satsu & Co from Japan. Why not Wood from Cleveland? The arc went out of its way to ship in all of the SLayer Teams and leaders that we've seen in season 8 (except Rona who we've been led to understand just isn't living up to the "potential" we thought she would and so whose absence can be excused) except Wood. The only explanation I can think of is that they just forgot about him.

Yes, the main cast was reunited. Robin Wood was never in the main cast.

I'd say the only in-Universe answer would be that Small Cell + Hellmouth = No Problem.

Since they're only a few Slayers on a Hellmouth, they're not a big enough presence to be a blip on the radar. They have no magic users among them to our knowledge (unlike the others who have Wiccas or Andrew or Giles who all have magic proficiency).

So Robin's handful of Slayers just don't give of enough mystical energies to outshine the energies of a hellmouth. And as far as the hunting goes:

1.) Since there are so few of them, they can easily blend in most of the time.

2.) The rest of the time when they are hunted, it's something they were used to since they were already operating on a Hellmouth.

Obviously Robin Hood's in the Sherwood Forest, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor.

OHHH we're talking about Robin Wood? My bad.

So... your explanation for Andrew is what?

Andrew was much more on the show than Wood ever was. True, he wasn't a main character but he was of more importance.
Hell, he even was in two episodes of Angel showing he was an important part of the Scoobies now. Plus, you may have noticed but Andrew was in the comics a lot whereas we see Wood in exactly one panel.

But since you asked "why aren't the main characters all together?" I replied with the obvious answer which was already in the question.

It's just a matter of keeping the cast down to a manageable size.

Not all the Slayers, or even all the leaders, are joining Buffy (it would be a huge tactical mistake to have them all in the same place anyway).

There are 10 squads averaging about 50 Slayers each:

1. Buffy and Xander's in Scotland (double size)
2. Andrew's in Italy
3. Vi's in New York
4. Rona's in Chicago
5. Robin Wood's in Cleveland
6. Giles' in St. Petersburg, Russia (now led by ?)
7. Satsu's in Tokyo
8, 9, 10 - ?

Andrew and Satsu are the only squad leaders who have joined Buffy (not counting Giles who is apparently no longer leading a squad), and Andrew and Giles did so on their own initiative, not because Buffy summoned them.

The best thing to do from a tactical standpoint is to keep them as widely scattered as possible. There may be strength in numbers, but it's much harder for Twilight to go after individual Slayers than big groups of them. By drawing Twilight's attention with her big group, Buffy is keeping the others safer.
