I'm in a mood for romance. (sw)
I want to hear what you would think is romantic. And have you ever done anything romantic for the one you love? Do tell 😀

Btw. the most romantic I can think of would be a summernight with a nightsky full of stars. And just me and my lover, looking up, and enjoying being there at the moment.

One of the most romantic times I can remember was when I went somewhere near Norwich to meet some of my ex's family. It was a nice day so we went for a walk down the coast. It was just a really great day and we lay down in the sand dunes for a while and then walked back, it was great.

I've never done anything romantic. But in my opinion, everything that you can do only with your lover is all romantic, no kidding.

Things I've done that are romantic? Uhhhh....family board (sw)

Things done to me that were romantic....it's a longish story (mainly because I make it so) but I was away at a conference over Valentine's day and was coming back home really late on the 15th. I was about 2 hours later than I thought I would be home, my now ex had waited in the rain at the gate to my building with flowers and chocolates to surprise me since we didn't get to do Valentine's....the only year I've actually liked that holiday! lol.

Now thats what I call romance.
I've never had anything romantic happen to me as my first and only boyfriend was at 15 and he cheated on me. Never been with anyone since as part of me is in no rush to find someone even though Im now 22. Buuuuuuut for me romance is just doing the simple things like enjoying one another's company or just going for a stroll somewhere.

I know I'd have to be in the mood to go for all the soppy things romance wise but thats rare. Wow I sound like such a hard nut with no feelings, somebody shoot me now!

I like your idea of romance :)... and no shooting down, instead we'll drink hot chocolate together *gives F2 hot chocolate*
...Romance is your partner arriving home with Chinese take-away that saves you from having to cook 🙂

That's love!
My idea of romance is buying things I want for my lady's birthday, and then telling her if she doesn't like them, I'll be glad to take them off her hands.

Why am I single again?

This may sound a little sappy and lame to all you younger members.....but I care not, it's how this old dude likes to roll 😛.......

In past Valentine's Days I would present my lady with a single long stemmed red rose, and a single white rose.....the red symbolizing my love for her, the white symbolizing the purity of that love.

After a nice dinner, we go home, and I pamper my lady for the rest of the evening.

We put on some some music CDs with the lights low, have a little wine (well, she does....I don't drink), dance to some of our favorite slow jams......

Afterwards, we sit and talk while I massage her feet for her, helping to relieve her tensions away....relaxing her to the point of drowsiness.

I get up and draw her a bath.....filling the tub nice and hot, just the way she likes it.
Into the water I pour scented oils, and sprinkle a good amount of red and white rose petals into the water.
Before bringing her in, I light many scented candles all around the bathroom, an idea I stole from movies.....

I usher her into the bathroom, assisted her with her clothes, and help her into the tub. I gently bathe her, working up a nice lather, wash her hair for her, tilting her head back and washing out the shampoo using a pitcher.

Her bath done, I help her out of the tub and wrap a huge towel around her, and softly pat her dry.

I then lead her into the bedroom for her naked, slow, full-body massage using scented massage oils.

As this is a family board I'll stop right here...for it gets kinda blue from this point on. 😛

Re:

I wouldn't know romance if it bit me in the face. I suppouse most women would say something along the lines of a moonlit walk on the beach, or red roses and wine, a serenade and a massage or SOMEthing like that. I say it's all over rated. I guess I have no basis for comparison, as I have never been "romanced" before.

Well, for me, the most romantic time was my wedding night. (I am keeping this PG, no worries!)

It was a long day. I got no sleep the night before, had issues with my mom the day of, was stressed trying to finish decorating the church, was whisked off to get my hair done, then back to decorating, my grandparents whisked me off to eat (first food I had all day and I hardly ate), and then back to have make-up done, me being told to just sit back and relax which resulted in me trying not to flip out... all-told, it was a stressful day, an evening wedding, and a reception that lasted too long for a very tired bride who left it as early as possible. 😉

We get to the hotel, Seraphim helps me out of the car, takes me up to the room, helps me undress, helps me shower and then tells me to take my time drying off. He disappears into the bedroom area and tells me to wait while he gets something ready. I'm now in the blushing bride and feeling a little awkward and nervous about stuff to follow, but I come out all smiles when he calls me.

And then I start to cry.

He picked up all the rose petals my flower girl tossed during the ceremony, and arranged the over the bed with a little path leading up to it. It was one of the most beautiful things I had seen in my life. 🙂

For him, one of my best memories was his birthday. He had to go to school that day, so I spent the morning cleaning the entire apartment top to bottom. I then bike to the store to get a few things for dinner, and a present. I arrange it so dinner will be by candlelight, I wrap his present, and I made him this lovely Asian meal and a peach pie (he's not a cake person for dessert). I set up candles in the bedroom and it was all a surprise for him when he got there, and after dinner I took him into the bedroom and massaged his back and shoulders via candlelight. It all ended there, though, as he had had a really long day. But still... 🙂

Or, when we were at the RenFaire when we were still dating... he's in his kilt and the poet shirt I made him, I'm wearing my wench dress, and we're walking along. He sddenly sees this rose seller, goes over and buys a rose, and comes back, gets down on one knee, and offers me the rose and asks me if I'll accept it as a token of his love. 🙂 It was very sweet.

There are plenty others, of course. Like waiting for me in Frederick's of Hollywood while I spent 45 minutes trying on corsets I wasn't going to buy (at least not for awhile). 😉 Or taking a long walk with me at dusk on the ranch in Mexico when there was just us and the stars. 🙂 I could go on for a very long time. 😉

Awwwwe, those were all adorable YC! :)
My storys not as romantic as the one on here, but its very cute and I loved it 😛

I was working late one night (till about 12.30am) and I was texting my mum to pick me up from work ( I was only 16 ) as I walked out the front of my work I saw my boyfriend outside waiting for me, he rode to my work from his house because he wanted to give me a kiss goodnight before I went to bed, awww 😛 He stayed with me and gave me cuddles until my mum picked me up and then he rode back to his house :-D

I love some good romantic stories! Well I just got engaged a couple of weeks back so I guess the proposal will serve as my story.

My idea of romance:
My boyfriend had called in sick to work and we had spent the entire day lying in bed watching movies.
We went out for a few pints with my family.
Went to the local pub where bands were playing.
Hanging out with friends.
My boyfriend buying me drinks and lighting my cigarettes for me.
He got down on his knee in front of about 200 people and looked me straight in the eye and said that he loved me and doesn't want us to ever be apart and will I marry him. Great stuff in my mind!

I've never actually been romanced cause I'm not really into it, but it would be nice. I do feel like I'm missing out on something.

Beautiful!!!! Which reminds me:
The most romantic I've ever....Ok I've never done anything romantic(hence, why I suck, and still am single!), but I have experienced something romantic.
A guy I liked once took me walking in the woods, and he'd remembered a talk we had ages ago about how I loved abandoned castles, and ruins and stuff. He took me really far, and then we came to an old crumbled ruin that once had been a small castle. It was really beautiful, and we climbed up on the top to sit and watch out over a huge lake while the sun was juuuuusst perfect. It's one of the most beautiful thing's I've ever seen in my life...And it really was romantic.

Romance. What a load of wank.

Joke.

I got with a guy when I was quite young, and I've gotta admit, I though EVERYTHING was romantic.

But now, not so much. I think attitudes of romance have changed, guys and girls today think sharing a bottle of cider next to a bin is romantic. No, no, no. Well actually, that is kinda romantic...

Anyway. I don't know, I feel like I'm never going to out myself out there to be romanced, if there is such a thing. I feel let down by guys, the guys I've known, I'm not a mental man-hater!

But if it ever happens, I'll get back to you guys, for sure.

I used to be romantic, not so much anymore. Most romantic thing i've done.
When my ex-Sarah, went to college, she had to leave her Labrador puppy behind.
It upset her a lot, because she never got to see him anymore. For our 1 year anniversary. I rented a summer house for two weeks. Nice area, lovely country side. When she opened the door, her dog was waiting for her. Took some work, but I got the dog there. She was happy. Good times.

The BF's idea of romantic is "hey let's watch this video of me with the dogs...again"

His bright shiny moment: Last fall we were walking through a store and I happened to see pearls and said "oh look they are so pretty! I love pearls blah blah" and that was the end of it. Well apparently he remembered that, and got me (no icky jokes please) a pearl necklace and matching earrings for Christmas this year. It was sweet.

Also when we went to Myrtle Beach he stayed at the beach house with me instead of going out with his friends and we drank margaritas (he drank beer, I drank margaritas) and watched OU kick the patooty out of Nebraska, and then sat outside on the balcony watching the ocean and talking about the game, that was pretty awesome.

He sometimes makes comments too which are sweet...like the other day we were sitting talking in the car about the future, and he hinted that he has "plans" for us in the future...I know he's talked to my sister about the big question (they are best friends, it's how I met him), so we'll see....

But yeah, romantic? Not very much so....OM3 up there takes the cake!

Romance. What a load of wank.
Agreed. No joke. 😀

I'm all for love and be loved, and tend to use that word easily when I feel like it (yeah, call me a hippy if you want... I certainly have enough hair both on my head and in my face to fit the picture XD), but all of the "one and only" romancey stuff and all that jazz? Nah. I know it has a nasty habit of turning ugly when I go there, so I've learned to decline.

I think it's romantic when the smart, witty over-confident guy in your lectures hears some strange man is following you around campus and goes out of their way to walk you to your flat every evening after lectures 🙂 and then tries to pretend they're just 'going that way...' lol. I wish he would just ask me out.
