I was just chatting about this show the other day, & thought it might be a good idea for a thread. I think most people will probably already know what the show was about but for anyone that doesn't, it's where celebrities got to put their 'pet hates' into Room 101, never to be seen again - the host always had the final decision if I remember correctly as to whether said things actually got a reprieve or entered Room 101.

So, with that in mind if you had the chance to banish some of your worst nightmares/pet hates to the depths of Room 101 what would they be and why?

Perhaps others could leave a Karma rep if they agree/disagree with the items chosen by other people? I know you all more than likely will do that anyway! 'lol' 😀

Ooops, just searched & .........there was a thread before on this but it was nearly a year ago, sorry! :freak:

Have some rep for reviving a good idea and giving me a chance to rant :)
Cool.

Bottled Water.
I really hate how i have to pay for my water to come to my house and then i can go to the supermarket and choose from a gajillion different types, which tell me that they are better quality than my home supply......but the fact i'm paying for my home water, shouldn't it BE of a good enough quality for me TO drink.

...and some bottled water actually was tap water...remember Dasani, Coke's bottled water brand - a marketing disaster from 2004? (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3793751.stm)

My nomination has to be Reality Shows and their contestants.

A bunch of talentless wannabes and has-beens, pandering to the lowest common denominator of viewing. If it wasn't for all the easy-to-make reality garbage, TV producers might actually have to come up with something worthwhile instead and the shows I like might stand a chance of not being cancelled...
...and relax 🙂

See, I don't feel right giving Mr P neg rep, so i won't, but its not the Shows i'd fault here.
If i was making TV shows, i'd make the cheapest, easiest and mostly watched.....the problem is the viewers of these shows(which i admit to being on occasion).
They(we) should be sent to 101.

NOTE: My worst one was Big Brother, but thanks to some really terrible shows, I now only have one reality show i watch, The Apprentice and honestly this is in NO way the same league as 'Big Bother' and 'I'm a D-List Celebrity looking for a career break so i'll eat crap on live TV, get me into there'.

edb - are you going to come back to this and judge what should be consigned to the depths of Room 101?

DDLM is quite right - my rant was directed at the wrong target but I'll still stand by my choice 🙂

oo.........what a tempting thought, getting to decide what goes into Room 101! :D
I'd put bottled water in room 101 too! waste of money oh and the makers of big brother,(reality shows in general ex The Apprentice) the networks who cancel shows left on good cliffhangers and we don't get to find out what happends..(Angel, Invasion *cough cough*)

Tele Sales............those annoying people who ring you up and won't take 'No' for an answer! Oh, and how annoying is it, when you pick up the phone, after you've got out of the bath or rushed off the loo, and then there's no-one on the other end, or it's someone trying to sell you double glazing, or a sodding mobile phone!! Grrr........

They always wanna sell me duck cleaning...or is that duct cleaning? No wonder they hang up on me!;)
24 hour news channels!
Over exposure, emphasis and analysis! The finding of 'experts' that have that deer in the headlights look on tv because they are out of the comfort of their little cubicles in some government funded think tank.
News articles like Brangelina are lead stories while a natural disaster is destroying people's lives.
Or celebrities that get involved in an issue and they expect the world to stop and do as they command, ala George Clooney, Oprah, and all the other cry on cue crowd and these news channels muscle each other out with in-depth interviews and convoluted history lessons.
Oooops rant went a little longer then I thought but 24 hour news channels must get their mics unplugged.

Right on
Yeah to telemarketers, and telephone pollsters. Also those automated telephone messages. Those things are evil.

People who pay up to 2 bucks for a bottle of water when all science shows there's no improvement in that water over tap water, and when they do taste tests with people who claim they prefer it, they can't tell the difference.

What Teen Titan said.

Tow truck drivers who tow my car away.

Check-out girls who can't count change.

Internet trolls.

Spyware and computer virus creators.

Microsoft with that BS thing they do where they tell you something is a security update, but really it's purpose is to get control of your machine.

Home invaders, con-men and swarmers.

The far right, and the far left.

Religious nuts.

The RIAA. That's the organization that claims to be representing the rights of music artists, but in reality is trying to hold it's tenuous grip over who can hear what, and force people to pay vastly inflated prices for crap. They sue their customers.

I have to stop now. I could go on all day. Room 101 would be a pretty humungous room if I had my way.

I take great pleasure in saying "No thank you, I'm not interested" and hanging up on them as soon as I've established what they are.

Another similar group of annoying pests are the door-to-door cold callers who always turn up at the most inopportune moments to persuade you to change your gas or electricity supplier. Mrs P is a lot more polite to them than I am and actually gives them time to go into their spiel before informing them that we don't do business on the doorstep...although, I'm rarely rude to them - they just don't get beyond the first couple of lines of their scripts before the door is closed on them with a polite "No thank you"

Emo kids.

No, seriously. I can't go to my local Denny's or Steak n' Shake without running into fifty of these fourteen-year-old rich kids who think their lives suck so much that it's not worth wearing clothes that fit properly or getting a gorram HAIRCUT. I mean, dude. The guys look like chicks and the chicks look like somebody cut their clothes out of some three-year-old's coloring book and Elmer's glued them on the wrong way. THESE PEOPLE MAKE ME WANT TO RIP MY EYEBALLS OUT WITH PLASTIC SPORKS.

.: sigh :. I feel purged.

No binging and purging here, if you please...but I'm glad you feel better now! ;)

If I'm feeling especially playful or bloody-minded, I play games with 'em...like put the phone down and walk away for 5 minutes. Sometimes you can here 'em saying, "Hello? Hello?" But they never hang up...so I finally do hang up when I think they need a drink of water after talking so much...😉

I'd add the door-to-door evangelists to this list...I think we can take a guess at who I mean!😉 The most fun I had with them is the one time an older lady came to the door, and after I had been polite in my unwillingness to talk, she still wouldn't take "No" for an answer. I told her I was just on my way upstairs to have sex, and that she was welcome to come in and continue our conversation while Mrs. D and I carried on...I've never seen smoke trails from orthopedic shoes before! Mrs. D wasn't overly amused, though...😉

They still need to go to Room 101 though!

lmao - too funny! :D I would shove every single bible basher who has ever knocked on my door in Room 101 too....heck if I want religion I'll go find it, I don't need it to come knocking on my door! :P
Do they have those door-to-door home security salesmen in London or Toronto? We get them here. Those guys are smarmy. They hit you in the evening, 7 to 9 pm. It's always some intimidating looking individual wanting to tell you why you need home security. I had one big native guy looked like he just got out of the joint. I'd say, "No thanks", and he'd scream into the night, "What? Are you joking me? Do you know what king of crazies are out there looking to break into your house." I wanted to say "Yeah, I'm looking at one", but instead I just laughed, and told him again I wasn't interested, but there was a little old lady 2 doors down, he'd probably have better luck terrorizing. We both had a chuckle, and the last I saw he was heading in that direction.

God - He's a bit dozy, plus the guy needs a shave.

Children - They smell.

Spiders - They suck.

Frank Lampard - So overrated.

The Internet - It is pure malevolent evil.

Drugs(crack, heroin, etc) - They corrupt the foolish.

Caps - They look tacky, no matter what head they're on.

Comedians on List Shows.

Firstly, its evident they have only just seen the clip they aretalking about so whats the point of coming up with some phoney 'ohh i remember when that first aired' bullcrap. Secondly, you are on a Clip show, you don't have an opinion you have a 'funny'(obviously sarcasm) comment on whats just happened.

I have nothing against SOME 'Top 100'(or whatever) cause its nice to sit and watch the One hit wonders over again, or get a run down of some truly funny sketches and its even fun to agree or disagree with the 'Top 100' movies/actors/actresses/pet poodles of all time....its just those damned 'Comedians' that you've never actually seen before, only ON List shows.

Al Gore promoting his new documentary "An Inconvenient Truth". His university professor made him aware of the evils of global warming and it scared him so bad that when he was VP for 8 frickn' years his administration pumped the most emmissons into the atmosphere. Wesbsters just updated their dictionary...under hyporcrite his portrait is there!
