Rumor of Tara: Fact or Fiction

There was a rumor that in season 7 Tara was supposed to be returned from the dead when Buffy had one wish to bring someone back from the dead. She was going to pick Joyce and then revealed that she picked Tara. Now we all know this didn't happen, but is it true now that Tara is going to have a role in this season? This is the second rumor revolving around bringing Tara back.
 
Well, I've heard the story of her returning in season 7 before, and I'm pretty sure that it's fact. In the end, I think Amber was unavailable and that's why it didn't happen. I'm not so sure about her returning in season 8 though. I mean in theory, now that Amber's schedule can't really conflict with the story anymore, they could bring her back, but I don't know it she would still fit into the story.
 
If Tara came back...I would die of happiness and shock. I'd faint! I'd cry and I'd squee with joy. But, I do ask...what would happen to Kennedy? I didn't hate her, but I would feel bad for her. I mean, it's like...

"Sorry hun, my lover's back from the dead so...yeah. Again, sorry."

I mean, Willow'd never do that (I hope) but even though they're on hiatus, I'd like to see more of Willow & whoever her love interest is. Be it Tara or Kennedy. Please bring one of them back!!

That is actually false! Tara was not supposed to come back from the dead however she was supposed to make an appearance in "Conversations With Dead People" unfortunately scheduling got complicated and Amber wasn't able to make her special appearance which is why they had Cassie talk to Willow instead of Tara! Which may I add sucks!!!
 
It is actually true. I can't remember what on, but I saw in a Joss interview (I think, or it might have been another cast/crew member...?) that they'd written in for Tara to come back, and had to change the whole thing when Amber wasn't available, Kennedy was never going to a love interest for Willow, just a potential, but they changed it when they couldn't get Amber.
 
Yeah, I've seen it in a couple of places from Joss's lips. One recently.

Personally I think it's cute if it was just something he was musing over. If he actually did it, I think I'd find it dumb.

Hey, isn't there a fic in the BB fanfic section where somebody tries to actually bring that story to life?
 
not sure about the Fic, N4H, but didn't Scott Allie mention that Tara wouldn't be appearing in S8? or at least, they have no plans to bring her back anytime soon...can't really say anything about 9 months down the line.
 
I think Joss said that Tara would eventually appear in season 8...but considering the comic is going to be running for a year or two...
 
In 'Slay The Critics' they pretty much said that no dead characters would return in season 8...I think. Though then again, they could be saying that so we're shocked when it does happen, because they wouldn't want to ruin the storyline.
 
I hope Tara doesn't make any appearances. As much as I love her, I'd hate for her to come back and have her character ruined.

To be honest I would be more shocked if we didn't see her again in some shape or form...I mean is there any buffy/angel character who died and we didn't see them again??

The only one I can think of is Wesley and Cordy but we didn't really get a chance for them to come back, and Doyle but that couldn't have happened.
 
Good point. I guess she could make a return. Well I would like her too, anywho.
 
I think if we do see her again she won't be alive, it will an apparition or a dream or something like that.
 
Yeah ditto, I think it would be great if she came back for like one issue/arc, but not like alive-back if ya get what I meaN/ One of the things that made Buffy so good was that no matter how extraordinary the cause, death was always treated very seriously and true to life. But I think twud be cool to have in season 8 like Tara back a bit- maybe as a flashback- and I think you'd have to have Joyce back even for a snippet, because hasn't she like appeared in every single season? (Even though technically in season 7 it wasn't her...). C'mon, can't break with tradition and like you guys said Amber's schedule can't conflict anymore.......
 
Personally I would like to see her come back and haunt Kennedy? it would be totally out of character but damn entertaining!!

That would be soooo funny & awesome. I doubt it would happen though. It would be so cool if it did :lmao:
 
I would be insanely happy if Tara came back. WillowXTara is my favorite pairing on the show, and possibly in all known fandoms. I'm rewatching season 4, and I'm overcome by the cuteness of Willow and Tara being in scenes together. It would be great if Tara came back.
