Yay! It's finally coming out! Been waiting ages, and just finished reading the first 4 issues of Joss' arc cause I couldn't really remember what had happened.

Anyway, this issue looks good. 🙂

Awesome! Its been ages since this was out, I keep looking for it when I go to collect my Buffy fix!

I gave up waiting for the new issues, i'm going to grab the GN when it comes out.

What's with all the good comics taking so long to be released lately? Secret Invasion felt like it took FOREVER!

I wish the story were as long as the shipping.
Do you have to be familiar with the Marvel 'verse to enjoy it? I don't really read superhero comics.

No. The first 6 issue arc is very self contained. An origin story. There are a few references to Marvel characters, but you don't have to know anything about them for the plot. It gets a little messier a few volumes in I guess...

It was a surprising place for an announcement, but nonetheless, Marvel has announced the new creative team for Runaways via G4's Attack of the Show.

Blair Butler broke the news that Kathryn (Patsy Walker: Hellcat) Immonen and Sara (NYX) Pichelli will be the new team on the series, following Terry Moore and Humberto Ramos "“ whose run ends in April. Upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man artist David Lafuente will draw covers for the series.

In the segment, Butler said "Marvel promises that one Runaway will die in the new story arc, and one might live again."

Click on the link above for the full segment.

The new team will most likely begin in June (issue #11) which has an issue solicited, with the information for the issue being listed as "classified."

"Live again"...would be nice to see
Gert
again..if that's who they're talking about. Glad Ramos is going away. Way too cartoony. Haven't read this since the end of the Joss run.

How I wish Brian K. Vaughn would come back. I still really like the comic, but Whedon and Moore's run, just dosen't compare. But they have some nice moment's. Won't spoil it, but Xavin's choice at the end of issue 6 on Moore's run, is a very sweet scene.
As for who is back from the dead. I think it may be too soon for
Gert
it might be
Alex.

Can i get the runaways in TPB's or Hc's???

If so what volumes do i get??

edit: I've had a look on amazon but theres quite a few and i dont know which ones to order.

Here's the order of the volumes for TPBs:

Volume 1: Pride and Joy
Volume 2: Teenage Wasteland
Volume 3: The Good Die Young
Volume 4: True Believers
Volume 5: Escape to New York
Volume 6: Parental Guidance
Volume 7: Live Fast
Volume 8: Dead End Kids

I believe volume 9 is out, too, but I haven't read it yet and I haven't heard great things about it.

Runaways have been collected in digest format. Which are smaller than the normal graphic novel size. But they are cheaper.
This is how the running order goes.
1. Runaways: Pride and Joy
2. Runaways: Teenage Wasteland
3. Runaways: The Good Die Young
4. Runaways: True Believers
5. Runaways: Escape To New York
6. Runaways: Parental Guidance
7. Runaways: Live Fast
8. Runaways: Dead End Kids. This is your normal sized graphic novel. And is Joss Whedon's 6 issues.

After this is Terry Moore's run. Not released as a graphic novel yet, i think.

Edit : Crazy Flakes totally got there first. Haha.

Have you read any of Terry Moore's run? And if so, can you tell me if they're any good? I've heard a lot of people say that it went way downhill after Dead End Kids and wanna make sure buying them is a good investment.

I've read the first 6 issues. They're good but not great. Some nice moments, but a lot of side stories, that slow the main story down. Issue 6, has a good ending though.
I wasn't a huge fan of dead end kids, I'd put it level with that. It's not as funny as previous volumes though, and the artwork, is very strange. Takes time to get used to it.

thanks for both responses guys 🙂

i can see that the first 3 volumes are hardcover, and also joss whedons issue is released in HC as well. Is there any word on the other ones being released as HC?

I am not sure. I know there are the digest and graphic novel formats.
There are also Runaways Hardcovers.
runaways volume 1

This is the only link I could find to them. You will see volume 1. There is also a 2 and 3. It might be worth trying to find them. They are often out of stock though. But try some online shops, and you might get lucky.
They are well worth the money.
Volume 1 has issues 1-18. (volume 1)
Volume 2 has issues 1-12 (volume 2 )
Volume 3 has issues 13-24.
This is Brian K. Vaughn's entire run.

This takes you up to Joss' run. Dead end Kids. Which you can get in hardcover.
I hope you can find these somewhere. Have a look.

Oh ok i think i get it now, so basically there are like 8 TPB's, but you can get Volumes 1-3 and Joss' one in HC as well and that is the same amount of issues.

Right?

If it is all those are on amazon 🙂

It is complicated, but i think that is the case. But just be sure about the hardcover volumes 1-3. You will be able to know that they are the ones by the page numbers. Volume 1 should have about 448 pages, Volume 2, 312 pages. Volume 3, 272 pages.
