i'd like to mention that i do NOT work out like this in my day to day life. i couldn't do a routine like this while having anything even remotely resembling a life. exercise is great. in moderation like anything else.
1) DAYWALKER157 and AGENT-S: thanks for the shout out. van wilder was an amazing experience for me and i'm grateful for single handedly ruining the pastry industry.
"2 guys" was my first job in LA. loved the live audience, loved my fellow cast members: a family that i will always miss.
2) getting into acting? i had the benefit of beginning my career in vancouver, canada. when i started i only worked drama. at the time vancouver was the "movie of the week" capital of the world - cheesy tele-drama's cranked out with the efficiency of a tommy-gun. by seventeen, i realized i could only cry with Donna Mills so much. so, i got into improv comedy and ended up moving to LA. i was fortunate enough to have a resume under my belt which helped me secure an agent. ironically, the first role i was ever offered was BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. i loved joss whedon and loved the role, but felt i'd be happier in front of a live audience. highschool was hell for me, and i'd be damned if i was going to go back, even if it was on t.v. this time. hence, i entered the sitcom world.
my non-existent point is simply this: if you're interested in acting, the best advice i have for you is to get involved. get involved at any level. most major city's have small film industries of their own - or at the very least, theater programs and acting workshops. the best way to become an actor is to act.
3) VAINES: it DOES rain alot in vancity. but trust me, move to LA for 7 or 8 years and you'll miss that rain, my man.
4) Nightstalkers: it's been talked about. Goyer and i would like to work together again. if that's a Nightstalkers movie or something else, we'll see...
5) stepping into BLADE: i'm highly reverent of the previous films. while Hannibal does has his funny moments, he's primarily a pretty ****ed up, dark character. he's the darkest version of me. he seemed to fit right in to the overall tone of the Blade franchise.
6) what's next? continuing to branch out as much as possible. shooting a film in chicago right now. it's a remake of the 70's film "The Amityville Horror." for MGM. we're actually faithful to the book in this version and not the old film. lots of downtime, so i'm writing to you guys from my trailer...
7) David Goyer: if i were a vegetable, which one would i be? that's a tough one. hopefully one of Dr. Kavorkian's patients.
also, regarding cereals: one cannot simply choose from that shallow pool of common drywall. choosing a cereal is like choosing a reflection of oneself. a cereal should take into account the fragile patchwork-quilt of humanity while bringing to light our darkest wish and deepest shadow that peer out eagerly into the night. it should offer reprieve from our terrible and often humiliating hardships whilst at the very same moment grounding us in a loyal connection with the our inner child. i might also add that i found your question unanswerable at this time and simply wanted to type for a bit.
