S H I E L D News

A flashback seems like the most likely scenario, although I suppose the pilot could take place prior to his death in The Avengers. LOST did, and Person of Interest does, that all the time to bring former stars back for a guest shot. It would kind of surprise me if he's back full time.

It would kind of surprise me if he's back full time.

Even though "agent down," and "the medics called it," aren't ABSOLUTE guarantees that the character is actually dead, and "They needed a push" COULD be a hint that Fury only led the team to believe that he was, in order to inspire the team into action (he faked the bloody cards, after all). The actual term, "Agent Coulson is dead" was never used. I wouldn't be too surprised to see the character return (we're talking Joss-death here, not necessarily dead-death) I would expect him to be back in the movies, with all of the other movie characters, not in the TV series with a bunch of new ones.

I thought I read somewhere that Clark Cregg himself said that his part in the series won't be just flashbacks. I can't find the source though, so I might just as well be wrong.
Anyway, with Coulson or without Coulson, I'm looking forward to this. I really hope it's a 100% Whedon show.

With or without Coulson, I'm still in. Any Joss show is a show I know I'll like.

As for the show possibly becoming a parody of itself (as they said) because of too much comic relief.................. Have they seen anything Joss did? There's never too much comic relief 😉

Twitter users put up pictures of S.H.I.E.L.D branded truck today, apparently on the way to filming!

The pilot for Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. starts filming tomorrow and two separate Twitter users spotter a S.H.I.E.L.D. truck on its way to the set. You can see those photos by clicking here and here.

The pilot for Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. is expected to air this fall if it's picked up for series. In the show, Clark Gregg reprises his role as Agent Phil Coulson and he is joined by Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, and Chloe Bennet as Skye. Joss Whedon will direct the pilot and co-write it with his brother Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. It has been confirmed that the series will take place after the events of The Avengers.

Colbie says she's in talks to join S.H.I.E.L.D

Already set to reprise her Marvel's The Avengers role of Agent Maria Hill in the soon-to-shoot Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Cobie Smulders tells IAmRogue that she's in talks to join the cast of the upcoming television project "Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D.," should the pilot go to series.

"The commitments to ['How I Met Your Mother'] don’t affect it," Smulders told the site. "and I can’t really say but there are definite talks about it… I will do Maria Hill until they fire me and hire someone else to do it."

Smulders, who also stars regularly on "How I Met Your Mother," can next be seen in the Nicholas Sparks adaptation Safe Haven, opening February 14.

I think this is a great idea, she'd be cool on there, and I think they need someone from the movie on there full time, to tie it in a bit more.
(I say full time cuz I still can't work out if Gregg is there full time)

I think it's weird that HIMYM schedule doens't overlap since it's renewed for next year
