I'm on episode 15 or so of S3 and I thought I'd share my thoughts as a first time viewer. Overall I think the show just keeps getting better and better, though from what I've read I'll be disappointed with S4.

Buffy is still an awesome main character, though I find her and Angel tiresome. After everything he did I find it difficult to believe she would be so accepting and I think Giles had every right to be as angry and hurt as he was when he found out. Sorry, Angel's killing spree has really soured me on accepting him as hero, though he was a great villain, I liked watching evil Angle.

I'm loving Willow's character development, as someone interested in witchcraft and the occult it's neat to see her grow into a witch, and I liked the episode where they try to burn her and Amy, who I kind of wish could get more screen-time, she seems cool. Willow and Giles are still my favorite characters in the entire show though. Oh and Vampire Willow was really cool in "Wish." I wish we could see some more of Evil Willow in alternative world episodes.

I started to like Cordelia for a while, but she seems to be regressing to her old shallow self now that her and Xander broke up. Ozz is pretty cool, he and Willow make a really cute couple, though I do hold out hope for her and Xander.

Faith seems really cool, but her coldness towards killing someone is starting to turn me off towards her. That is the last episode I watched before typing this, so maybe its just a tough girl act.

I kind of feel like this season has less plot centered episodes than the others though and the mayor is really nowhere near as awesome a villain as Spike or even the Master. Speaking of Spike, I loved seeing him drunk when he came back for the love spell. Can he come back more often, please? The show needs more Spike.

Season 4 isn't good, keep an open mind!

That's awesome that you're still digging it. I think that the series peaks in S2 and 3, but really, it goes from being the best T.V. show of all time to one of the best ever. 😀. S4 is quite different, but it's still very good. 5, 6 and 7 are all outstanding (and I'm very interested to see what your take will be some of the characters as you move through the series).

Ah, not a Bangel fan. To each his own and all that, but I love Buffy and Angel together. Favorite couple of all time. You have to remember too, that it wasn't really Angel who did those things in S2. It was Angelus. I think there's a pretty stark difference there. I suppose I get it if you can't invest in Angel as a hero, but as a pretty massive Angel fan, I've always liked him. I've never thought of Angel and Angelus as the same person, really, and as the series progresses, Angel is (after Buffy) my favorite character out of any T.V. I watch. The Buffy/Angel relationship is the most passionate one I've ever seen, it's just perfect to me 🙂. But then again, I'm a big sucker for that type of thing.

I won't spoil any future plot lines, but don't quit on Cordy. She's an amazing character. Yep, Oz is awesome 🙂. I like Xander and Willow a lot too. They're kind of a pair where even if they don't fall in love with each other, I always think of them as soul mates.

Spike's episode was fantastic! I love that whole thing. Him getting hammered and waking up with his hand in the sun was gold. In just about every appearance he has, Spike is the man. After Buffy and Angel, he's the best character on the series in my books.

Faith is awesome too (now that I think about it, there aren't many who AREN'T awesome). As you can probably tell, she plays a pretty major role in S3, but I don't want to give anything away. Like Spike, every time she shows up, I'm into it.

I always liked The Mayor. He's a very different big bad than The Master or Angelus, or the later ones as well. He's hilarious though, very entertaining.

But hey! You forgot the best part of the show! Snyder! Snyder + Band Candy = GOLD (seriously, who didn't know that type of kid in high school?)

Mmmm, depends who you ask.

I'm totally with you on Spike, Willow/Oz, and the whole Angel thing. But the Mayor is awesome! He is one of my favourite Big Bads, either second or third. (Angelus takes first.) He's so affable, yet so evil, and he is hilarious. Not to mention what happens later on... but spoilers, so I won't say anything yet.

I am so pleased you like the show! I think your mind is going to be blown in later seasons...🙂

Glad to see you are enjoying it! The rest of s3 is really good too, I think you will really enjoy the season finale.

Season 4 gets a lot of hate, but I think it's a good season. I think the transition from HS to college really changes the tone of the show and some people don't like change. Keep an open mind, you may end up loving it! 🙂

I knew you'd back me up on S4! :D

Well, I didn't like most of season 4 because of certain things I'd rather not mention here (I don't want to spoil it for you 😉), but it has definitely its moments and includes some of the best episodes of the entire series! So, as PassionBecoming said, keep an open mind! Don't let other opinions influence you. I'm also really looking forward to your opinion on season 6, my personal favorite. It's great that you like the series so far!
