In season 6: "As you Were", when Riley accuse Spike of being the doctor and punched him in the face. Spike didn't fight back. (because of the chip, I assume) yet, when Riley tried to go down to Spike's Crypt, Spike forcibly grab him and tried to stop him from doing so.

Question: why was Spike able to manhandle Riley, without activating the chip ? Yet, in season 4, he couldn't even point a toy gun at Xander. Do the chip still work ?

He didn't hurt Riley though. Spike knew he wasn't hurting him, so it didn't activate. Spike was just moving him by force, not harming Riley.

Actually i have another chip related question. When Spike escaped from the initative after having the chip planted in his head how was he able to ruff up the two human doctors while he was escaping?

i wondered that too
i'm guessing the chip wasn't activated until he left the initiative
not sure why they would have it deactivated around them, but it's the only explanation i can think of

I have a question about the chip regarding Dawn, is he able to hurt Dawn since technically she is not human, and certain things can tell that, is it possible the chip can sense that she isn't? Or is Spike never attacking her just common sense on his part, meaning he don't want a VERY angry Buffy coming after him.

i thought that dawn was still classified as a human
spike has never tried to hurt dawn while he has had the chip though, so you never know.

She appears human yes, and for MOST intents and purposes she is, but certain things can see what she really is, a big green ball of energy, even Willow could tell thats what she was when she turned evil.

Of course she has a soul...the monks said they made her human. Humans have souls, and they didn't say we turned her into a vampire.

That makes sense that she would have a soul, supposedly next season they explain a little more about her being the Key.

Hopefully, because I think they ignored that area for a little too long. Dawn needs more stage time in the fighting scenes, and from the looks of it Season 7's gonna make up for all the wasted time in 5 and 6.

MoreDawn time is definatly needed when she whines shes annoying but when she doesnt shes my favourite character. well maybe Anya then Dawn. I wanna see dawn kill stuff and not do that get out get out get out bit again thats twice now and its a horrid noise.

😀 Yeah: When she yell "get out , get out , get out" she sounded , just like Glory did in "weight of the world".

Hmmmm? Dawn mimic Glory. I ponder the thought, that there may be more to her than we know.😱

Reminded me of that scene she did in Harriet the Spy. lol

I love that: "Get out! Get out! Get out!" And, I do believe that Dawn is human--just with the green ball of energy mixed in--kind of like the monks put the green energy ball in a bowl and mixed in all the human pieces!
