S7 The best season for Action / fight scenes.

I just wonder, flawed as any season may be, I thought that season 7 had some of if not the best action sequences and fight scenes of any season.

One day I may sit down and watch season by season and do a body count but the death rate seemed high in season 7. Then add the big finale with thousands of ubervamps getting the SPIKE and i'd estimate season 7 as the clear winner for bodycount.

The fights with the Uber-Vamp were more vicious than anything I remember from any other season. Spike vs. Wood was pretty brutal. It just seemed to me that they upped the violence massively.

Any opinions? Any favorite fights?

Agreed, Season 7 had some great action, but the best single fight in the entire series has to be Buffy/Faith in Serason 3.
 
Totally disagree. Season 3 and 4 had the best action sequences. That's when Buffy's original stunt double, Sohpia Crawford, was in. The fights looked less choreographed - although it's all hollywood - and you actually saw Buffy progress as a fighter. Buffy's action in Season 7 was a little under par, and just downright sloppy.
Why did Sohpia have to leave? ::crying2:
 
In season seven I liked the Spike/Wood fight and Buffy's one on one fight with the ubervamp was pretty brutal too, particularly the first one where she got beaten but the second fight, where she fought in from of the potentials was good too.
 
Season 7 was good for fights....i loved seeing spike square off against Faith...finally...ok so it wasn't for that long but not the point. But i think season three had good fighting sequences..buffy vs. Faith..now there's a good fight 😀
 
i have a few that i liked. i always find my self watching buffy and faith in season 3, buffy and angel in season 2, buffy and spike in season 4 when they are in the daylight, buffy and both uber vamps. i think that season 7 was better with all the death. oh and buffy/willow and giles in season 6 also gr8.
 
Giving credit where credit is due - if it weren't for the stunt doubles Buffy would have been a total and complete bomb. I like Sarah as an actress but put her in front of a heavy bag with some boxing gloves and ANY and ALL authenticity goes out the door. Here is this Mythic fighter, defender of the weak, killer of demons and she can't even throw a decent jab. LAME. I know nothing of the stunt doubles but they must have been incredibly talented cause they made SMG look like a fighter.

I agree with all the above replies - Seasons 2 3 and 5 had great fights too but VIOLENCE in bulk quantity was found in Season 7. Also, it was bloodier. As much as I liked the early seasons, scenes with fighting to the death and Vampires NEED blood to make them realistic.

I always liked the Angel sequences better. I liked that his entire team was made up of competent warriors.

Buffy was really the only useful one in a big fight on BtVS 90% of the time.

That's one thing where Buffy has a huge leg up on Angel. Angel's stunt double was way too obvious in some scenes. The guy's face looked nothing like Boreanaz and it showed on occasion. Not to mention that while David shaves his body hair his stunt double didn't, so in shirtless scenes Angel's body hair appeared and disappeared between shots, lol.
 
I think season three and season four had the best fight scenes. At the end of season four the stunt team changed, which is why the stunt doubles and the choreography is different from season 5 onwards. It was a lot faster and there was a lot more wire work in season three and season four compared to the last three seasons.

Season seven was ok, it was a vast improvement on season six which I think aside from season one, had the worst stunts out all seasons. That season really lacked imagination in the stunt department. But season seven wasn't as good as those earlier seasons. It's the best fighting since season four though.

I think season four is the best season followed very closely by season three. But Buffy Vs Faith in 'Graduation Day' is without a doubt the best fight on the show.

Ats always had much better fights. Massa (db's stunt double) was *fantastic.*
 
i totally agree turok han vs buffy was the best when they fight in the cave lol
 
Other than Chosen's fight scene I love the fight scene between Buffy and the Ubervamp the one where he kicks her a** because the look of it.
