Which character do u think had the Saddest death(or aftermath of the death, like how people reacted)?

I loved the Body the ep was AMAZING!! But The Saddest death in either show was Defiantly with out a doubt Fred's death it was so hard to watch, I hated seeing asking why she has 2 leave. It was so well Written and Acted!

Please, Wesley, why can't I stay? :cry:
 
I could not agree more with you. Fred's death was definitly the saddest. It also hurt that her soul was destroyed, which I guess means she gets no afterlife, she's just gone. I hate frickin Knox!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think most deaths were pretty sad, in particular Joyce, Buffy (s5,) Wesley, Cordelia, and Doyle. But for me these two were the hardest:

Fred - It was very sad, because it lasted so long, and it we saw it coming and it was inevitable. The aftermath was terrible of course.

Jenny - I remember Giles walking into his house and toward the body, that was so devastating to watch.

yeah good point. I remember when he dropped the glass after following the flowers up to his bedroom. You just felt so devasted for him.
 
There were so many sad deaths on BtVS/AtS! But the two saddest to me were definitely Doyle and Tara. Doyle sacrificing himself to save all those lives. And when Tara died, it was so shocking! At first Willow didn't know what was going on, but then she was so devastated and went evil. :cry:

I agree, Tara's death was shocking.
The worst one for me was Joyce (the raw emotion in that ep was so heartbreaking to watch. From Buffy's discovery, to having to go to school and tell Dawn what happened.) Fred's death was devastating. I had some hope that she and Wes were finally going to get together, they'd realized they were in love (a bad sign in Whedonverse, huh?) Then, here comes Illyria. I liked Illyria, but I could never love her, after what happened to Fred, altho, I don't guess it was really her fault....more Knox's fault than anyone's.
 
DARLA! OMG that was so sad... I mean not the death but the whole thing her last words were so sad and she killed herself for CONNOR.

Yes Darla's death was very sad too...
OMG, Darla, Tara, how could I forget... the latter was especially tragic and the first well... I was so shocked and upset it was just... there are no words.
 
Well what a happy topic 😉

1) Joyce. Because it wasn't just Joyce that died but it was an innocence. An innocence in Buffy that she didn't even realize she had anymore. An innocence in Dawn who felt she lost her only ally. An innocence in the group that deals with death all the time but not on this scale. From the moment Buffy said "mom?...mom?....mommy?" I started to cry. I cried until the end of the episode and then a little afterwards. It was a death that I didn't see coming and it still rips my heart out.


2) Buffy-The Gift. My God. I still tear up when I think about it. Even though then (and now) I know she's going to give her speech to Dawn. I know she's going to jump. I know I'll see the reaction but it's just so painful. Dawn starting to cry. Spike overcome with grief. The tears and distraught in their eyes. Just a few moments ago she'd beaten Glory. She had once again proved why she's our Hero and then......Why'd she have to go? Why did it have to end that way? It's a horrible repayment for saving the world again and again.

3) Fred- "Why can't I stay?" Her body was taken over by Illyria. Her soul was decimated. To think that her essence might not even exist anymore is horrible. When you think about Angelus/Angel. Angel was always there but in the background. "a demon sets up shop and you're there but you can't say/do anything" Fred's not there anymore. She's nothing. It's horrible. She tried to be strong but then she cried so much and was so childlike when she said "Why can't I stay?". It tears you up.

4) Johnathan(odd I know)-I always hoped Johnathan would evolve to more. Maybe even be a semi-scoobie one day but he died at the hands of his "friend" and there ended his miserable life. I wanted more for him than being Andrew and Warren's side kick.

I know what you mean about Jonathan. After Superstar, I wanted to see more of him too, but unfortunately, Andrew did him in.

Your top 3 are also my top 3....those were the saddest ones in my eyes.
There were so many sad death's, but for me, the saddest death's were:

Tara: Just the way she died, just getting shot like that, I was in tears. I loved Tara, and I couldn't believe she was gone.
Buffy (in The Gift): I think the speech at the end of this episode made it more emotional when Buffy sacrificed her life. I thought the speech added to the sadness of the moment.
Fred: For me this was the saddest death of them all. I loved Fred, and the whole scene was just too emotional. And all those flashbacks showing Fred's life with her parents added to the sadness for me.

Tara's was just so sudden!
Buffy- It tears me up whenever I hear the music from the end of The Gift. It was such a touching scene and it was Buffy. It's always sad when the hero dies.

Tara- "You're shirt" To me one of the saddest things about her death was that she didn't get an epic death. In a world where most of the main characters die doing something epic or heroic, she just got shot. And damn Joss for putting her in the main credits becasue you wouldn't think she'd die at the end.

Joyce- When Buffy said "Mommy?" I lost it. There's something so innocent and childish about it, it makes it that much more heartbraking. Joyce was the character that grounded everyone, she's the character I always took for granted becasue when she's gone you really feel it.

Fred- I read the spoilers that she was going to die and the scene still made me cry. So so beautifully acted and written. I wanted her and Wes to get together forever and when they finally did they were ripped apart, which is normally the case for the Buffyverse.

I know, that was it for me, too. What GREAT acting on SMG's part, I felt every bit of her pain. I just sat there, numb, afterward, I couldn't believe that Joyce was gone.
 
I don't think sad is the word I'd use to describe The Body. I'm not really sure what I'd use, other than painfully realistic.

Hero is sad to watch, Glenn's real-life death adds a bitter edge to it. Gets me every time.

Strangely I didn't find A Hole in The World sad, it was more just more painful to watch again, and I presumed that she would be coming back somehow first time I watched it (I mean losing Cordy and Fred in a few episodes is crazy!). But Shells I did find sad- it's that flashback ending with Fred leaving home, :cry2:

Hero really got to me because of Doyle's comment, "Fight the good fight, yeh?" referring back to their earlier convo about doing what needs to be done.
To me the saddest death was Buffy's in the gift.That was the only one that got me all teary.Mainly because of her speech to Dawn.A close second was Cordy's death because I didn't expect it.I knew she was gonna leave but I didn't know she was gonna die.I get teary eyed everytime Angel gets that phone call.
 
Theres more than one sad death for me.
Fred's- i just watched Hole in the world again today. i was upset at Knox, i wanted to kill him. Also Fred's speech was so sad. Amy did a great job there. Also Wes and Fred just got together and then they were torn apart.

Doyle's- Doyles death was sad because we gave himself up so Angel could keep fighting. Again Cordy and Doyle just admitted their feelings for eachother and then Doyle died.
 
All Sad

All the deaths on buffy and Angel were sad, but Im heading towards Joyce,Anya,Tara or Billy forhdam. I know that some people will disagree with the Billy thing, and for those of you who do, Im open for debate

I cryed for sometime after the show was over.

Sure it was sad when Doyle died, even more so when the actor who played him died.
And I had a feeling Cordy was going to die. She wasn't there, then they bring her back for that 1 episode.
